never seen anything like it before, was it just resting on the bumper under the washer bottle or clipped/bolted on somewhere, as if it was just loose it may have been collected from the road and bounced it's way in there.

Thanks Ralph!

Sorry about the xpf image in the background, didn't twig till I just looked at the picture!:shoot:

So does no one have a clue? I don't think it can be THAT important as the car hasn't fallen apart (yet!)

ZSTurbo: It was just laying on the bottom of the plastic arch liner behind the bumper, below the washer bottle...

The Headlight washers don't have a heavy bracket like that.

Item 3, part no DNR100040, nothing like the bracket shown!

thats a retainer clip to hold the headlamp washer behind the bumper. i meant the headlamp washer models (mostly 45s) are fitted with a completely different water bottle as it features an additional pump pre fixed to a varient of the mg zs washer bottle we have. the other washer bottle's pump for the headlamp washers has a bracket that looks exactly like that

All the screen wash bottles for all models of the Rover45/MGZS are the same shape size etc, the only difference is that the holes cut out for the different pumps.
They are held on with 2 bolts: 1 from the inside the engine bay/inner wing and the other inside the inner wing near the chassis leg.
