View Full Version : wanted: a 180

my current zs 120 is getting new pistons and liners to cure it's piston slap, after that she will be in beautiful condition, getting a MLS headgasket and Land Rover head bolts as part of the rebuild (at the warranty company's expense :))

I can now afford a 180. The 180 I'm looking for MUST be a saloon with the extreme spoiler.

I'm looking for either a trophy blue mark 1, or an ignition blue or black mark 2.

If it's the mark 1, it MUST have had the belts done, and be a 52 plate or earlier.

If anyone has seen one for sale please let me know. I'm looking hard and hoping I can sell my car quick enough to get it.

assuming the history is FULL and i can sell my car before he sells this, i'd make an offer of £2800 get this:

EDIT: Ralph, ZS-X, still for sale? ;)

mate I would worry about the belts not being done as if thats the case in the next year or so you will be shelling out £££ for them

does look a very nice car tho :smile2:

Budget £500 for the belts due at 6 years or 90k whatever soonest. That one looks good, shame about the mileage.

Yes. Want to make an offer?

I'm going to clear a few things out and try and get the funds. What's the service history like? When has it been serviced and when? What's the mileage? Thanks!

Vinnie- same question applies :) what's reason for sale?

Marc- tempting!!!

Going to the bank tommorow to see what loan options are available to me. I can afford to pay off the last loan for my current car as soon as I've sold it, only need a little bit more.

We shall seee!

I would expect the service history to be spot on ;) and I doubt you could afford it!

It had the 5th year service a couple of weeks ago. The mileage is currently at around 25,500.

I have absolutely no reason to sell it.I love the car and its in fantastic condition. Simply as I said everything has a price in this world. Full history which on 32k isnt much lol.

I have a hankering for an evo 7 still.......

yours does look nice vinny.

Tried to convince my dad to let me at my savings for your ZS ralph, but he wouldn't have any of it. Which I guess is a good thing as I will never afford a mortgage..so I won't insult you with an offer.

When mines repaired then sold/taken away, I will have a budget of £3000. I could stretch to £3500 but it would have to be something special!

you can have mine for £3000!

is your car on finance?? you will have to pay this off if it is, especially if you part x it, as companys wont take a car in that has any outstanding finance on it. buyers wont like it either.

hope you get the 180 you want steve, its a very wise move from the 120 imho!

A tough position to be in as you'll need to get enough to clear the outstanding balance in order to clear it, assuming the finance is against the car itself. You might be better off handing it back and getting another deal/bank loan for a private one?

06-07-09, 11:05 PM
thanks adam, i hope I get a good one too, I've learned from my past mistakes, I rushed to buy this one, i should have paid more attention to the engine noise. A real shame. driving this car out the garage was one of the best moments of my life as cheesy as it sounds.

am waiting this form GE Money are sending me this week, I'm going to try and hand the car as-is. i just want this over with ASAP to be honest, I hope the engine gets repaired and the car's kept on the road. But I think I'm now in a good stance to get a 180!

Fingers crossed for you Steve. So when are these seats coming out? ;)

starfire039
07-07-09, 07:29 AM
heh! could I come and grab the bolts off you and i'll swap em over myself at yours and give you a shout if I need a hand? Saving your back! I've got a spare 40gb hard drive that I'll wack in your computer and get it going for you! Once my front seats are in, i'll be putting my rears back in, that'll be wierd, having rear seats :p

I have the fixings, they are only M8 flanged nuts so nothing special. When are you likely to be wanting to do this?

and marc- i missed out on that ebay listing, mainly due to not being on her very much recently due to being on holiday/lots of work, and not having sold my car so can't afford another one till i've sold it, but it should be soon! either that, or it's taken away by finance company.
