Offers only. not going to put any prices down, as the last few people to do this have had 3 pages of comments saying they are asking to much and wont get what they want!

i know what i want and dont need people telling me what i should take for it. ill wait a while untill an offer is made through here that meets what i want, if not ebay then if not ill put it in an auction with a reserve.

The mk1 180 's that are older and have a lot more miles than mine seem to average around 3k on ebay.

Not the ones I've been watching !!!

The latest being a red hatch .... 2004 "53" plate which was 19K with FSH and ex-network Q car. It only bid up to about £1650 IIRC .... reserve not met.

As enthusiasts surely we should be dictating the market with regard to well kept owners club cars. Adams is definitley one of those. Better cars should command a higher price. I think £3000 is a fair asking price for Adams car, its an excellent low mileage example.

Lets not help push values down by suggesting that a car is overpriced. Lesser condition cars are priced accordingly, thats been highlighted in another thread.

Good luck with the sale Adam. Im sure you'll get what you want for it.

Sounds like you missed a bargain with that one on ebay Dan  How come you didnt buy it?

lol I agree.

Any other car of the same class / performance would fetch considerably more than we are told to accept for ours.

WHY¬?!

I agree. A car that's beeen maintained as well as Adam's deserves to command a higher asking price. However, Adam referred to others going on Ebay for £3K. All I'm saying is that I haven't seen any ... that's all.

Told to accept ...... Surely we don't sell for what we are told to accept, but what a buyer is prepared to pay, and we are happy to take.

Genuinely Adam, I hope you get good a good price for your car.

They are all Arthur Daley dealer cars....

This rare coloured Mk 1 is on autotrader for £3K. Wonder how much it'll go to tonight ? I reckon no more than £1700. Private seller.

We should all try to drive the average price back up! our cars will be collectables one day. There rare enough now as it is. I completey agree with martyzs the more people start to pay for them the better it will be for us in the long run!

Adam the car looks mint wish i had the money that would be a nice replacement for my 180 hatch. Good look with the sale mate.

Fair point well made .... however .... The "wish I had the money" bit is exactly why the prices are where they are.

Now that I'm an owner though, having bought martyzs's old one, for what I believe to be a bargain, I'd love to see prices go sky high !!!

lol I agree.

WHY¬?!

Because nobody wants them, they think the parts are hard to get, and generally the public just think they are shitty rovers, somebody called mind a "leyland" the other day pmsl

Unfortunately those that mock are the real losers in all of this. They are a drivers car and will remain one of the best kept secrets for a long time.
