Dont do it dude...... I sold an Astra VXR I bought new in 07 to buy my ZS.. Astras , in fact all Vauxhalls suffer with terminal understeer...

the vxr suffers badly with understear, but the gsi isnt as bad. any way i dont do track days so it doesnt really matter.

the car was a dog, really pi$$ed of with the bloke as he told me it was immaculate. 100 mile round trip wasted. bad body condition scratches all over it, alloys looked like they had been in a fight with an angle grinder, rear tyres bold, rear brakes non existant, engine in a discusting condition, looked like it had never been cleaned and touched, blue smoke on start up- turbo is fooked or close to been fooked.

on to the next one.

i dont like the seat, plus its a bit smaller than the astra. id love a scooby, but not the quotes im getting to insure one.

the astra gsi is about £300 less to insure than my current zs 180. plus regal autosport are 5 mins up the road, 2k can see them get an astra z20let to around 300 bhp!

im 21, so insurance is stupid. group 17 cars and above are 2k+

an astra gsi (group 15) is £700 fully comp.
my zs (group 16) is £950 tpft.

Not for everyone! My Prelude was £750 (for a modified policy) when I was 21...

Would have been £350 this year, cheaper than the ZS..

i dont know how they work it out. my insurance has always been more expensive than others the same age with the same car. maybe its the rough postcode?? lol.

i have a clean licence and 2 years no claims, nearly 3. driving 4 years no accidents. anyway i reasonably happy with the quotes consedering this time last year a astra gsi would have cost £1600

Ahhh... That's probably the difference then as I've got 4 years no claims and driving 5 years in November, I'm 22 BTW...

Location also makes quite a difference, my insurance dropped £50 when we moved!
