Looking at getting a 180 in the future, I keep changing my mind about what I want, but here is where I am now:

Mk1 Trophy Blue MG ZS 180
Around 60,000 on clock
Fantastic condition
Full service history
Online community member / club member selling car
Mods considered

How much do you think I should be looking to spend?

depending on year and wether the belts have been done between 1300 - 2000.

Like all cars, depends massively on age, condition, mileage, fsh, belts. an 80-90k'er with no belt change and in shabby condition and more than likely a dodgy past will go for £1200 ish. At the other end of the spectrum, a nice car like Adam's went for £2700, and the belts haven't been done. Best way is to set yourself a budget, you can pick a 180 up for a rock bottom price, but it's condition, history and mileage will reflect this. However you see some stunners for only £1700 or so every now and then! Cars go for less on forums, dealers and private sellers bump up the price. Look on auto trader and you'll see mark 1's for £3500.

Cheers for the advice guys!!! Shocked at the amount of money it costs for a belt change. I know its a cow to work with a KV6 in the bay (If I'm not mistaken, back timing belts are the worst to play with).

How dificult is it todo yourself really? I'm not a great mechanic, but always happy to take time todo things correctly.

You'll need a strong back and the timing tools for an in-situ change.
