Any interested in my buying my 180? Stuffed it into a kerb today down the lanes, after someone came round a bend on the wrong side of the road whilst overtaking. Front and back suspension took a knock so its bent quite badly. The car doesnt drive anymore either, sounds like a broken gearbox. There was oil on the floor when we moved it. If any one is interested let me know. Its a 52 plate with 50k on the clock.

If you've got the space wouldn't you make more by selling the bits?? The bare motor is worth a lot, plus all the bolt ons. You could always have it as a buyer collects and they pull off the bits. Then the body kit , wheels etc.

Hope you sent the tax disk back today.

Sorry its ended up like this but at least your OK. If it wasnt your fault wont the other cars insurance get it fixed??:wave::wave:

Thats a good idea but i have nowhere to keep it at the mo. The house is up for sale so cnt have it on my driveway, so its gonna have to go as one. The guy in the Mondeo tht come belting the other way didnt stop. Im just glad its happened with my 180 and not my Mgb or Golf. Ill take offers on it to get rid.

Thanks for the support :)

Gearbox oil i think. It still starts fine just has trouble moving without making a horrendous amount of noise! Im so fed up about it.

Honestly £500-£600, if that,

Honestly £500-£600, if that,

£500 sounds about right when you consider it needs transported, Gearbox, track rod, wishbone, and other suspension parts, possibly alloys. And a couple of days work.

Im glad youve said that, The figure i had floating around my head was £600

If the front suspensions took a knock good chance its pulled the drivesahft out hence the oil.

taking into account the cost of the excess and rise in premiums, you are probably better off doing what you're doing. I take it the person who overtook dangerously didn't stop so you can't claim off their insurance?

Sorry to hear about this, but at the end of the day you weren't badly hurt :)

I would claim on your insurance! What's the point of paying fully comp if you are gonna treat it like T P F & T!!

That's a crying shame, I would enquire on the insurance if that were me, nothing to lose. If I had spare money then I would be interested but I know if Steve gets it it'll be okay.

Oh this is all interesting. I just bought a rather nice looking MK1 with a blown engine. I only need a few front end bits, taking some spares and selling the rest for scrap. If I did not blow all my spare cash, I would just buy it and fit the engine.

If somebody buys this car, I can probably help come up with a cheap solution to fix it.
