It certainly does add up, I sold a few boxes a number of years ago as I had duplicate stuff, set for work and a set for the garage. I'm down to just the one Snap-On now, nowhere near as much as I used to have. Look after them as they will last longer than you will!

theyve lasted pretty good so far, all ive lost in the last 3 years, is a stubby snap on pozi driver, snap on feeler blades, about 6 of those orange handled electrical screwdrivers, have to be the best tools ever as well:Pcouple of sockets and my best matco quater drive flexi ratchet:( was gutted cuz it was about £40

You have to watch out if you carry tools in your car or works van, our insurance didnt cover tools that were left overnight unless the car/van was in a locked garage.

:hmmm::hmmm::hmmm:

well i would be a bit gutted, but ya know grand scheme of things its not the best set, id go for halfords socket sets before snap on now tbh, halfords tools are really well made, cheap with the trade card, and if you break them(which trust me u have to be doing somthing wrong to) they just take it back, dont even look at it, where as snap on its scrutinized, then he orderes it....n like 1 month down the line itt gets replaced, n i have to do without whatever it is, im not dissing snap on, the tools are great, and big mick tries his best, but whoevers at the other end, n theyre way overpriced too, my snap on buzz gun was best part of £300 very good tho:P, when i take stuff home from work for doing engines ect it all goes straight in my garage locked up:D pure gutter though when things like that arent insured, im amazed arnold clark dont insure our tools, someone could just come in n walk out with the toolboxes n we'd get nothing!

We took on an apprentice in the workshop, next thing he was buying a Snap on tool box, £2000. I said go to Halfords, theirs was about £200. but he paid weekly to Snap on. He was happy!!

Sure your right, our guy swore by them. He had a set of spanners that were more like ring spanners but had a ratchet inside the ring, so if you can get over the nut little movements did/undid. Always thought they didnt look strong enough to put the right torque on, but must have done the job. Others were angled to get at difficult nuts, not like my big, old, open ended spanners.

I was amazed when I was working my boss told me that my tools were insured for only £500! I was in a different trade and used to use festool stuff all the time which you got to give it to their german designers, they'd thought of everything! And the abuse the tools would take was unbelievable! Like you say they are invaluble as with out them got no income!!

I used to have a Snap-On account more than 20 years ago, back then there wasn't much else to buy. Prices were okay back then, but now there are plenty of others out there offering the same quality for alot less.

I don't have as much as I used to, thieving bastards decided that for me, took a whole box, MIG 130 Turbo and my specials. Never replaced them.

Just got a beat up box I used when I was racing, seen better days.
