Nicely done

That has come on a long way now and is really benefitting from the time and effort your putting into it to get it back to how you want. Really looking great and its good to see another being made better again with a little oem+ loving.

Good job and look forward to seeing this more as you go :)

Okay, so these weren't a lot of peoples cups of tea but they have really grown on me over the last 24hrs.

Fitted my Superforma hubcentric spacers yesterday (coutesy of Thumpjunkie).
30mm to the rears and 20mm to the fronts.

Really good quality and lightweight aluminum so hopefully wont add too much unsprung weight.

Some before and after pics now.

mcguard wheel nuts are a nightmare mate, best thing to do,if you can get the other part off,is get a candle melt it and push it into your wheel nut, thats how i had to get replacement ones, sent me the wrong one, they come from germany, looks good from side view though callum

Skillen 24-07-13 05:35 PM

I've ordered a full new set of wheel nuts as I'm sick of mine stripping and also fed up of the paint chipping around them so hopefully sorted something out with that regard.

Passed its mot today, one advisory (after changing the tyres) OSR brake pipe slightly corroded.

I'll clean it up and grease it and that'll be that.

Two decent front tyres which are no longer death trap ditch finders.
Continental Contisport Contact 5's apparently better than the contact 3's on the mk1 and they grip so well so can only have better experience which is good!
They better be for £119 a corner!

So much better than the cheapo (@£57 a corner) autogrip ones the last owner put on it!

Oh right, I don't have the receipts though nor the bits that broke off, nor the threaded body anymore haha!
I'll not be using them again anyway

MG ZS STE 24-07-13 06:04 PM

Ah, I didn't have the paperwork either as they were on the car when I got it but I did send the bits back. I reckon they may even accept your picture as proof.

Looks good, you got to trim much off the inner arch? Rubbing issues? Get some more pics!
