Right, i have hit a snag.

The issue is the 600 intercooler and rad setup.

Take a look at the Mk2 that was on ebay recently.

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/mgzs-180-m...vip=true&rt=nc

You will notice if you zoom in that the top bracket does not fit any OE mounting holes, as such it has been drilled and self tapped on, and there is no bracket for the intercooler.

Also the bottom mounts don't line up either, again you could remove one mount move it over and again, drill and self tap it in place... or weld it ! but its not as neat as it could be imo.

But the biggest issue is AC related :slap:

The issue is the the exit of the boost pipe to TB points towards the inner wing, thus exiting directly below the receiver drier and fouling all AC pipes...

Really wanted to use the nearly new 600 rad too

The solution would appear (again) to be a diesel set up.

The intercooler may look the same, but its not, the boost hose exits in the other direction completely !

Ok so i would have to adapt or go after market for the boost pipes... but i would rather that and have a decent secure rad and space for the AC components...

Also i will have to lengthen the lower water hose, but i reckon i can manage that with an extra length of pipe and a join ( donor 420 hoses look promising).

I need to check out Noodles ZS thread again as he used diesel stuff.

I see the problem, could you use your ti rad with a 420 diesel i/c.

When I modified the rad frame for the 220 turbo rad I made 2 new brackets to locate the top of the rad to the panel by the headlights

I looked in to that, the issue being now that i/c exits the other way, it would foul the outlet for the Ti rad.

You can see this with the following pics.

This is a 420 TD setup

Again, 420 td Rad.

Compared to the Ti Rad, as you can see the outlet is right in the way as far as i can see !

Yeah, 420td i/c with a ti rad isn't going to work really is it.

Or could you fabricate a couple of plates to move the 420 i/c so it is a bit further away from the rad and not obstructing the bottom outlet.

Done nothing recently.

I have a gasket to sort the pas pump now, i also have a new alternator.

ZS diesel Rad and intercooler turning up tomorrow too.

But its going to be raining apparently.

I have spent my day trying to make sense of the wiring diagrams.

I know its been said "its only a couple of multiplugs" yeah, right !

All i have after a day is a few pages of connecters and what each wire is supposed to do.

I have no idea on the fans yet either, as the Siemens ecu outputs a pulse width modulated signal on one wire which is interpreted by the fan modules the 180s have behind the bumper... you cant just trigger the relay as you could in a K series loom.

In fact im starting to think the 1.8 k would have been much easier to do as its a lot more similar being mems already.

Its either that or the 420 loom is going in, it may be hard work... but at least it will all just work ! from the AC to the cruise as and when i want to fit it... the ONLY downside is the instrument cluster... that is the only negative i can find.

It rained here today, brought my heated screen project to a stop, but on the upside some tasty engine bay eye candy arrived today.

Is Dan an option for the loom ?.
