Not sure what you mean with the exhaust bolt can't you use new ones?

Ritchy 02-05-12 08:36 PM

can push against the ground get greater force, lock your arms and push with your legs, pushing down the way youll only get your body weight unless you are jumping on it, exhaust bolt either cut it off knock it out, or drill it out from the back then put a new bolt in:)

small bit of physic into the equation lol, levers increse force, the bolt should be around 200 NM, probably 400 now taking into account its seized, i.e 40kg at 1 metre, so on a 50cm bar thats 80 kilo,

Smokey 02-05-12 08:51 PM

The bolt is practically welded on to the exhaust Grimmy. I couldnt move it! And annoyingly, it took me 20 mins to get one bolt in so will need to undo it take it off etc. Pain in the arse!

yep find some one with a 3/4" drive socket and a bar on the hub Nut.

Ive done three exhausts in the last week and its no fun on your back but very do -able. Infact I will be pleased to get back to work tommorrow to have a rest from spannering.

The exhaust bolts will be m8 or M10 and you should be able to just shear them of.

Smokey 02-05-12 09:10 PM

Shear them of with what? (noob alert!)

And just tried a 50cm bar, forcing it up...the bar bent and the bolt laughed at me!

Ritchy 02-05-12 09:11 PM

what make of bar did you use that it bent lolol,
