VIS stands for Variable Intake System which is what the 180 has, when you pop the bonnet the big lump of plastic on top of the engine at the rear is your plenum, the two squarish bits attached at the side are your vis motors/valves. If there is a lot of rattling coming from the plenum it will need replaced So haggle off about £500 for a replacment - car still goes but without full power. Whengiving it beans you should notice a power surge at about 3,400 revs and again at about 4,700????? if there is no surege and the car generally feels sluggish one or both the motors could be kaput:)

A guy is selling a mint MK2 ZS saloon on XPF with full alcantara interior, decat, springs, backbox with less than 20k on the clock. I'm sure if you offered him £3750 cash in hand he would bite your hand off for it.
