I can give you the number of someone who will come and take it away and give you 40 quid. They are in hoddesdon. Strip as much as you can off first tho.

£40? A local scrappy collected my brothers Saxo for £220!

M17TT180 27-08-13 12:35 PM

Yes but was that a whole car? Steel is only around £120 per tonne atm.

mattie007 27-08-13 03:04 PM

Yep, everything still in there!

Thats the difference then. Theyll strip it and make money back on the parts. Tbh I phoned a lot of places and most wouldnt even touch it. If I could get it to them then they'd give me a bit more but both were non runners. Only 3 got back saying they'll collect out of the nearly 40 places I tried.

Got round to taking a few bits off the other day and actually got the Mrs involved ... Spent a full 30 mins with her looking for the 2 hidden bolts at the back of the inlet manifold only to find that there weren't any done up, and with a good pull the thing came off in my hands !

It's gonna be left with the chassis and the engine I reckon and then I'll get my mate round with a trailer and weigh it in for scrap - remove the wheels at the scrappies and sell them and I'll just have a shed full of odds and sods for when members get into trouble with a ding and I'll be there like a knight in shining armour !

Shame as the engine and gearbox's a good one, but saw one go on the bay the other night for £99.99 .... Thing is, our V6 engine's are that good they don't play up unless you do big things to them and they don't like it so there's no demand.
