Got a quote today to repair the zs new bonnet fitted and painted £835 a bit high i think the bonnet alone was £290 going to get more quotes

That did seem high then I remembered some years ago when I had a bonnet replaced on a Vauxhall Carlton 2.2 CDi I had and that was £650!

Still shop around though, if you can.

This my sound like silly question but are the mk1 and mk2 bonnets the same or is there a slight difference.

Only the grill is different, unless I am told otherwise

same happened to my zr not too long ago, proper job bonnet from dealer was £250 + vat i think, ended up gettin a pattern one from overtons for £104 all in and got it sprayed for £120 cash in hand. Not too bad a fit though i still need to adjust the bonnet catch to bring it down a bit:construction:

If it was me I would buy a very tidy 2nd hand one and have that resprayed......try and get a bonnet of the same colour though. For example......spraying a Trophy Yellow bonnet in red or blue will mean that if the spray job is a general blow over the shade of your finished colour may look slightly different on the car.

Give EMS a ring dude as they deal in body panels.......01634 388999. Ralph should be there.....if not speak to Simon they may be able to help. Don't forget to mention forum discount as well and Ralph may be able to knock a little off.
