Well i'll try this gearbox out for now as cant really aford to get one sent over to the isle of wight atm but im sure this will be fine for a while( i hope) Just got myself a inlet so that will be going on when it gets here then just need a ecu.

No that's wrong advice.

Final drive is 3.9 on the 120 box and 4.2 on the vvc box. Cruising speed revs would be lower. Also speedo will read the exact same as you aren't changing the speedos gear ratio. The plastic gear is the same on both boxes.

Also most economical way of swapping those engines is leaving gearbox and shafts in car.

Thanks for the link but one turned up today was only £20 so can't complane lol just need a ecu now then its ready to go in!
Heres what i did today on the inlet i sprayed it also made a stencle to go over and spray the mg over the top.

Not done much lately but the other day the clutch gave up so thought it would be a good chance to swap the engines over!
Got the engine out today just waiting for the clutch to come then the VVC can go in!

Not up dated this for a while, The VVC is in a running Just it needs coils and camshaft sensor as its running rubbish and limited to 5,900rpm so there on there way, but its a big improvement on the 1.6 just cant wait to have it running its best. here's the latest photos ive got with the engine in but not with everything on.

Right not up dated this in a while, Since then the VVc has been a pain. The engine i got sold wasn't what i thought and just cant get it running right!
But now its running but can't seam to get rid of one code.

All the red in the engine bay as now all gone so looks so much better!
