Certainly has been true on any I have experienced. Best way I find to get an accurate mpg is reset trip and fill tank, when I next fill up note miles done and how many litres required to fill up. Those two figures and the mystical magic of maths (or an online calculator if you so wish) will tell you what you are managing.
Best I have is with the green ZS -37mpg iirc, was pleased enough with that and have no inclination to go out to beat that figure, if I do, I do:)

200 seems good fir a V6! I seem to get about 250 at the halfway point on a motorway run then about 270 on the second half. Normal use I get about 210, then 240.

I was the same with mine, with the exception of long motorway trips that managed 400.

The V6 seems to like sitting at nearer to 80

Not long done a 2 fuel calculators on back to back full tanks to empty & it comes in around 34mpg
with the 160vvc, lots of motorway but some spirited driving thrown in on country roads.

I really don't know how some guys don't get 30 at least out of a 180. Cruising at 90mph on the autobahn we consistently get 35-36mpg, cruising at 100-110 drops to about 33. Even fanging around the alps trying (and failing) to keep up with my supercharged K Midget we were doing 28-30 most of the time.

All above were with summer tyres, with the winter ones on it drops 5% or so.

EDIT: With our ZT 260 at home in NZ we get about 20mpg commuting, 27-28 cruising on the open road and perhaps 16-18 if really pushing hard. Towing my Midget on the trailer it still does about 22-23.

I get on average with mixed town and fast a road driving about 29 miles per gallon.
That figure includes flogging it through the gears because it sounds awesome.
I have just brilliant mine so I shall see what I can get out of it to the 1/4 mark.

Just headed to say that my last fill up clock in at 32.96mpg

What can I say, the ZS tank gauge is nothing but a means to see how quick it's gone and when it needs feeding again!
