Not quite yet, but it's nearly there. If I wasn't spending so much time on this stupid oil rig I might be making more progress. Only had 5 days off after the last trip, then I've got 6 days off after this one before I'm back out again :slap:

Not even thinking about making it road legal. It's going to be far too much hassle and yet another car I would have to tax / insure / MOT. I seriously doubt it would pass an SVA test anyway.

Well lads, on Sat morning the biggest milestone in a long time was passed.

17 months after the suspension, hubs and brakes were stripped off to be modified - EX259 rolled out of Dreadnought on all four of its own wheels for a well earned wash in the sunshine.

The end is actually in sight at last! Big thanks to all the team at Dreadnought for their continuing support for my crazy dream, Tony at TouringCarSpares.com for his help and rapid parts supply, George for sorting me out with replacement standard rear brakes (for now anyway!)... And my dad for sorting out the saga with the brakes.

Good to see it getting somewhere now, is it your plan to keep her at Dreadnought or after major work is done will she be moving in with you ?

ZS 31-05-12 07:58 AM

Nice car... but errr... Front bumper? ;) lol

Maxxed_Ross 31-05-12 07:59 AM

thanks lads

the front bumper is safe in the garage to prevent any more... "mishaps" while it's being pushed about

It'll be at Dreadnought for a bit longer - at least until the brakes are working and the last bits of fabrication are done.

It's then going to Stainless Creations in Falkirk to have some pipework required for the engine conversion finished off, the intercooler fitted and a couple of welding jobs done (the air-jacks don't look to solid, so they will be getting re-done)

Then it's off to get mapped, not too sure where yet

Finally it'll be going back to Dreadnought to get the air jacks piped up and the car set up.

Once it's finished I plan to bring it home, but I'll need to find somewhere to put it!

love the wheels bud

Look Good On a Proper Race Car Unlike Some Ofg THe Attempts i see round here on clapped out corsa's lol

Maxxed_Ross 31-05-12 08:05 AM

it's amazing the difference the wheels make. It looks so much more aggressive on the Dynamics - probably due to them having a bit more of a lip on them.

Turns out the Silver OZ alloys don't actually fit any more, so dunno what to do with them. Coffee table???

You could make a couple of coffee tables then sell them on here :D:D - Top gear style maybe ;)

The car looks like it is going to be awsome when finished, but does that mean you won't be able to bring yourself to track it?

Would love to see this in the "flesh" some day :)

Bobdope2002 31-05-12 08:14 AM

have you ever actually driven it ross????
