Well....

Not beating about the bush. It started on first go sounded a little 'mucky' for the first few seconds then cleared itself and was ticking over at about 1200rpm. Tried to engage a gear...no go

The slave cylinder isn't pushing the gear lever on the box far enough! DAMMIT!!

So going back tomorrow morning to have a play and see what we can do. I'm going to have a read up about ways of tweaking it as well.

It's odd. I'm chuffed to bits its running but at the same time gutted I didn't drive it home!

Pics to follow

Funny man :p

That's the wrecker! Very old lorry that, kick arse bit of kit though :)

peterzs 20-06-09 02:04 PM

Our lorry was stolen from our yard and we had to pick it up from a recovery yard just off the M25, on the way back, a friend of my boss, who was in the Army wanted dropping off to pick up a Recovery Lorry he had just bought.

It was a tank recovery lorry, I think it was a Centurion ( I know thats also a tank name) or something. Anyhow I followed him back to the M25 but he had to fill up first. This thing needed a ladder to climb up to the cab, filled the filling station.

He belongs to a group that restores and shows WW2 vehicles and he bought it incase any needed recovering. Had the specs lift, plus crane lift, now that was a brute.

Hope you sort the clutch out, so near yet so far.:thumbsup::thumbsup:
