Great DIY'ing!
Isn't making the primaries longer where you'll get a better benefit?
Or does it not really matter as long as the combined is equal?

For a V6 IIRC its the total primary and secondary lengths!
If I have enough room I would like to join the 2 secondarys with an X pipe first, before the Y pipe. Doing a little more research into H and X pipes on V6s but not going to lie I feel like im rowing through the mist regarding those.

Well, Got the cam ladders off today an noticed straight away a lack of cam position sensor on the exhaust cam. So its all she wrote on that one! Still glad I had a look into it an put it too rest!
Havent bothered porting out the inlets as there only 1mm smaller than the exhaust ports. An match up with no step to the lower inlets so seems a little pointless there unless custom lower inlets are used.
Might have a little look around for some 190 cams if any are going cheap, until then need to finish the exhaust, get a cambelt kit, water pump and stat. clean an paint engine. Go across the country to pick up another 180 in tahiti blue. Cant see the engine been in for POL but if I get my exhaust mani done in time I'll fit that to my car as it is to test!
Also anyone have much experience of advancing the timing by loosening the inlet main pulley an advancing that way. Going on the assumption that when the pulleys perfectly central on the camshaft, thats 0degrees. moving the pulley anticlockwise advances slightly. An moving the pulley clockwise retards?
There is no adjustment on link belt side.

I think the heads I got off Stephen were 190 heads
I don't need the cams so ill find out and let you know.

Yeah it has piper 270's on it (albeit without the pulleys annoyingly).
The heads are unused at the minute and the cams are just sitting in them.
I'll take a look after the weekend as I'm working Saturday and Sunday if that's alright.

Edit: they came from a 190 engine I just checked.

How is it with the cams?
An awsome stuff, What will this cost?

ShireRoller 03-04-15 05:15 PM

just ordered the 180 bend an Y pipe so hopefully have the 1st attempt on soon!

Skillen 03-04-15 05:25 PM

Seems livelier. But tbh I've not had it On a Dyno yet or mapped (will be by next month hopefully) so it may be a little placebo also.
Make me an offer on them :) I'm not wanting stupid money lol they're a second spare at the end of the day lol

ShireRoller 03-04-15 05:40 PM

im terrible at offers, I only need the inlet cams, still not a clue though!
