Looks like another great rebuild, all to a high standard. Hope it all goes well.

Looked at mini prices, as the grandson will be able to drive in a year or two. Idea was to get one that needed a bit of work. Prices are eye watering, ?750 for one thats OK for restoration!! Most likely rusted out rear subframe. MOT'd ones going for ?1500, ?2000, said a 1.4 ZR would be cheaper, or a ZS come to that.

Suppose its the insurance that pushes the mini prices up, scrapped one of the daughters mini, too much rust in the boot. Last seen being lifted up in the sky by a crane in the scrappies that had hold of the boot and was shaking it like a dog with a bone.

Poor mini, not a pretty sight.

thats the thing with minis unless you pay the money theyre usually rotton, mind you not as bad down dorset compared to up here but still probably better to spend the extra with a good bodywork, knackered engine wouldnt be too bad on one from what i gather theyre pretty easy to swap

Did a couple on my own, undo the subframe, brakes, worse bit exhaust manifold joint and lift the body up, push the subframe out.

Always had to have help getting the driveshafts out, worried I'd damage the casing by giving them a clout.
