iirc it was 1.4 bar which is about 20-21 psi. That should have been safe on that turbo, backdraft said it would do 1.6 bar + no probs. Guess we just dont know how its been treated though, all engines need warming up but high power turbos more so ...and cooling down too.

Bring it to next dinner !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Quadcam24 06-11-11 06:54 PM

just remembered, it had a boost gauge when i sold it....why would he take that out ?

Supercharged_Z 06-11-11 07:00 PM

I think he put it all in his stack dash so it told him everything, and then took it all out for the sale. going to do a mod the same as loz and do the dials in the center, oil pressure, oil temp, boost and afr with a wideband :)

with all the sensors he left in its just plug and play, the oil pressure sensor for the stack is £100 quid alone....

That thing is very fast!! when we was all at donington track day, couldn't believe how fast that left my ZS!

Man, like I said you got a cracking deal there Ross. Superb car and just needed some tlc when I saw it at martins somehow I don't think that will be a prob for you :-))

Kinda strange getting back into 4 wheels after years on bikes. I hav always struggled to get a kick from any car after riding bikes but the cupra turbo with a 275hp motor was fun so I can imagine what the stripped out mg must feel like.
Got a chance to drive a formula renault a few yrs back and it's about as close as I got to riding the bikes on a track apart from the cornering forces were in real after 6 laps I thought my neck or head was gonna explode.

Hope we can all meet up sometime next yr at a suitable trackday, may hav to bring the bike to keep up thou or let ur Tyres down lol.

Yes guys, I have indeed bought the VAG ZS built by Reyland for Dave V6.

I offered the guy what i could afford and we came to a reluctant deal.

I do not think it has been as well looked after from when Dave had it, so i have a little tidying to do. Also the turbo seals are on there way out so a rebuild needed there.

I picked this up wednesday, he took the stack dash out as i offered such a lowly amount and i suggested he could make some money from that. So I had no dash or sensor lights. I fitted a dash yesterday but the sensors for the stack dash are still in so I only have a few lights, no revs or speedo but at least a fuel gauge.

Can I just say, I have driven some quick cars in my time having been around RSM and also friends. BUT nothing even compares to this, its a car with serious balls, it pulls so hard and grips so well in second, you change to third and expect the pull to be less, but it just goes and goes, change to fourth and the same again.

I cannot express how fast it is, so I am chuffed. Little bit of work to do like upgrade the brakes with my Brembo's, Sort the turbo, clean the inside, repaint the cage. Have already changed the oil and filter as well as sorted a exhaust issue.

The car should have massive credit to Dave and Martin from Reyland its a pure beast, and I will say now the v6 sounds nicer to rev, untill you hear the noise of the turbo on this 4 pot. No kv6, supercharged or not could match this engine i can tell you that now.

before you ask yes one side of the bonnet is up and the other not!! previous owner did it to escape heat

My baby  I really want you back  let me know if you intend on selling it Ross pretty please. All the rest of you can get in line behind me this time!

Can't say I am surprised when I saw that come up on ebay, was surprised at the condition as it looked a little sad. Keeping both or will we see the red one go again?

hey ross, you should see about doing a side by side with george in his M3, everyone knows M3's are quick so it would be a good reference.
Nice dual carriageway side by side drag from 30 mph in 3rd gear, should do the trick!
Doesnt matter how many times you say its quick, folk just think your exagerating but video gets it over some what better.lol
