Shame, I don't know wether it is worth fixing or if getting a decent settlement from the ins would be better.

well, phoned NAtionwide, car will be in my possesion within the hour!
i will be arguing the value as have all the info required, paint costs etc from factory

IF i get a good turnout - it'll be fixed for sure and it'll ROCK!!!

Fred68 14-08-12 02:52 PM

Get it fixed!! Does it need to be jigged ? All the suspension is forward of the wheel arch center line so unless there is distortion from there forward I wouldn't have thought it necessary? But as long as you can get a top job done for less than the payout then you wont be out of pocket!!

James Raby 14-08-12 03:36 PM

rear wings distorted, new bumper, new boot lid, rear panel straightened

other than that - paint

carmadbaker 14-08-12 08:51 PM

Rear quater panels can be pulled straight in a day :-) my turbo needed doing!!

Shame ur so far away as I would help you, I can get the tools to fix like I did mine, but why a full paint job? Worse comes to worst it should only be is the rear quarters and boot/bumper

andy-81 14-08-12 09:32 PM

I can't see the need for a full respray either as they would only need to paint the rear half of the car as that's the only part that's damaged obviously it would need blending in but that can be done with a good polishing compound and a restorer for the front to match them in I think.
I reckon they know it's a total loss, they know your keeping it and the fact that your getting paid out on it so to me theyre just trying there luck to get a bit more brass out of you

James Raby 14-08-12 09:45 PM

I asked how much, he did say it doesn't need a full job!

Steve, can always drive to you...

James Raby 20-08-12 05:34 PM

Offered 1440 - wtf!!! Taking the ****!!!

Steves Cleenz 20-08-12 08:23 PM

i was offerd £1600 for mine the first time lol
