Two days of thorough cleaning

Tar removed, clayed, cutting compound, polish and two layers of wax.
Then cleaned the engine bay and the interior.
I'm sore from all the manual buffing!

I also raised it 10mm all round and moved the 20mm spacers to the back and fitted some 15mm ones to the front.

Now all I need to do is keep on top of it all until PoL.

(That and fit my front brace, fit the front splitter, stop the damn glovebox rattle & find out what is rattling about at the front)

Dan1971 07-04-15 08:54 PM

Hmm .... good enough to eat .... off .... Good work.

MG ZS STE 07-04-15 08:58 PM

looks a good job. i didnt think you were debadged at the back?

Skillen 07-04-15 09:04 PM

Yeah it had a really terrible aftermarket one when I got it. So I took it off. But it's scratched where the last owner took a chisel to the original badge I think and then covered it with a shitty badge.
I just took the ZS letters off yesterday.

Thanks gents. Took a lot of time but it's worth it.

Also about the front, it broke the mounting point from being too low *facepalm*
So now it's "held" "in place" by cable ties.

Sex on wheels....

Which is perfect since there is a decent gap to fit it into...

It looks really good mate. XPG is a really nice colour when it catches the sun, the black wheels set it off really nice aswell. Top job lad

top_man_eldo 07-04-15 10:17 PM

They're just a cheap sticker-bomb vinyl that I put on a spare set of caps as my originals where chipped and scratched to hell.
Never got round to fixing the others up as I quite like the look haha.

Looks ace pal, bet you were knackered though!

Lukeus101 08-04-15 06:41 AM

Need to spend some time on ours, it looks like a scrapper compared to yours in these pics :(

jaorton 08-04-15 09:35 AM

Looking quality! I've got an XPG one too and am also after some black wheels. So it's nice to have a little "preview".

The parts are actually really easy to replace, I got them off Rimmers when I snapped one of them. I also initially used cable ties, but couldn't handle knowing it was held on with them!

adam 08-04-15 11:37 AM

Looks cracking!

john180 08-04-15 04:13 PM

Looking good!

Mine needs some serious love before POL! It's feeling really neglected at the moment. :(

ZS Phil 08-04-15 11:53 PM

Looking good, polishes up a treat. Reducing the spacers has improved the looks in my opinion.

Mart_in_MCR 12-04-15 03:02 PM

It's looking really well mate, love the shots at sunset on the spoiler!

It's a lot of effort but well worth it when you get results like that.
