MG ZS 180 - Monogram Aurora
Thought it was about time i started a thread on this one since i have had it for over 2 months now!
This particular car happened to sit in the showroom at longbridge until 2006 when it was sold on. http://i328.photobucket.com/albums/l...ps71a17172.jpg 8 years later, 120k of mainly motorway miles, one rear bump here we are. I own the only knowing surving Aurora ZS. Another 180 Saloon has been exported to either Italy or France and the last was a ZS 120+ Hatch. I have alot of plans for this one. Getting excited at the thought :D This is a keeper for sure. http://i328.photobucket.com/albums/l...psuwhdspck.jpg http://i328.photobucket.com/albums/l...psyxcrpwu9.jpg http://i328.photobucket.com/albums/l...psaw24nv4i.jpg |

This will be a keeper... Guaranteed.:police:
Plans Exterior 1: Extreme spoiler 2: Respray as much as possible ( But both bumpers, bodykit and spoiler defo need it) 3: Mudflaps to protect the areas 4: Bi-Xenon projector conversion - Done Interior 1: Monogram Red Alcantara - Done 2: Smokeys famous tablet install. 3: Respray all dash trim in Aurora along with early door cards and also the TF Steering wheel. The one that has the silver trim top and bottom. 4: Fit early 45 carpet 5: Fully sounproof the inside, boot, doors, roof etc.. 6: Dash LED conversion. I have changed my mind several times on this so no doubt this will change but you get the idea... :D |
All sounds good to me - but - not so sure on doing the dash in aurora too .... Think a guy did that in a ZT. You can sometimes have a little too much of a good thing. Might also clash a bit with the seats ...
Obviously all your call mate ... just my thoughts and sure it'll be one step at a time. |
brushed aluminium effect vinyl wrap on the bits of dash & door trim may look good with a flocked dash?
(the brushed ally is a bit bmw, but nice tho) |
Powerfolds and Cruise to come soon aswell!
|
Got my plate fitted, and managed to get some uptodate pictures aswell.

Looking good!
How are you going about the cruise set up? Taken from the 190? If it's possible and workable I'm gonna strip a 190 lol. But by all accounts even retrofitting from cdti ZT to Cdti ZT is difficult. |

The kit is coming from a 45 v6! its auto though, but anything is possible :) |

Not many of those about! Yeah I guess it's finding where the kit fits into the auto and going from there. In the ZT in sure they take a reading from one abs speed sensors (rear in fwd) and there is a plug in to do with it re the cruise ecu. I wish you luck with your endeavour! Hopefully it works and there is a viable oem cruise option. |
The ZT uses the same components as the 45 for cruise but they are wired differently.
The speed signal is supplied to the cruise ECUs from the ABS ECU. The cruise ECUs are programmed to suit the engine so you may find that the 45 system isn't ideal as the engine is 20% smaller. Good luck with this, I tried and gave up on my mk1 as I had a mix of 45 and ZT parts and couldn't get it to work. |
Superb looking motor can't wait to see how this progresses, hope to see it for real soon by the sounds of it a Scottish meet is way overdue!

Small update.
Will be coming off the road at the beggining of March for her stripdown and FULL respray. If its going to be done, then why not do it right! Iv been collecting bits and bobs and will shortly have her dash bulbs red/white. Roof etc all done in black alcantara. Iv got some chrome door sills to go on aswell. Only thing im really struggeling to find is original Bodykit fixings! For small piecies of plastic theyr doing my head in! |

Managed to track some down last year for my arch. They needed cut down but did the job. I'll have to have a look and see if I can find them now as they'll be buried. |
