I think these are the first pics i've actually seen of your car.... :yikes:
Are the wheels white or is it just 'burnout' from being too bright?

I like it...

stamford 20-07-08 09:32 PM

They are indeed, absolute ******* to clean white alrighty

ian zs180 20-07-08 09:39 PM

Looks great stamford

arwilson80 20-07-08 09:46 PM

How would you rate the tyres?

stamford 20-07-08 09:57 PM

The Hankook's have served me very well, on track they have performed better than expected. I'm not one for brands, I go for value for money and if they grip in both wet and dry and stay in one piece then good.

I've sampled various rubber over the years especially when I was racing so tend to stick to those I have had good service from. Some major brands I won't touch as they have failed badly, delaminated, melted or just no grip.

arwilson80 20-07-08 10:04 PM

I tend to go on peoples recommendation hence the reason i asked. :)

I've had Pirelli (not fussed), Falken (not fussed), Avon ZZ3 (quite pleased), Toyo (good but don't last that overly long) & of course the Continental Sport Contact (similar to the Avons).

stamford 21-07-08 08:01 AM

Hello Mike, yea I cleaned it! Won't trust my girls to do it, they can't keep their own stuff tidy let alone my car! Also did Kathy's for her, she can't reach the roof bless her ;)

sduk 21-07-08 03:39 PM

Spot on Sam. Late evening and sun going down, not many places to catch the sun at that time of the evening.

Craig 21-07-08 09:42 PM

Stunning! The wheels are spot on! Im thinking of powder coating mine white. I have had a few hankook sport ventus and im now onto the k104s. Great price £58 and last well too. Nearly as good as the toyos Iv got on the front but last much better

stamford 21-07-08 09:45 PM

White is a real biatch to keep clean, but when clean they set it off :D

grimmy 21-07-08 11:05 PM

That is one stunning looking mk1 ,those wheels are amazing looking

stamford 22-07-08 07:20 AM

It's funny, you don't think of it that way, but it does look good in them pics :D

Well today hurts, I got my shed back from my daughter, so it was Xsara time today and no ZS  as it was left on the drive. Still, saves money!

mrt_04 22-07-08 08:46 AM

Me too Mick. ZS parked up, using Laura's Polo 1.4 16v........selling VW as just got her Audi A4 Avant 1.9TDi...........very nice I have to say, tremendous strong engine :beer2:

stamford 22-07-08 08:59 AM

Bet it hurts paying derv prices though!

mrt_04 22-07-08 09:04 AM

Corrrrrrrrrr, Laura pays that!!!!!!!!!. Typical huge fuel tank. £50 1/2 fills it!!!, however full tank gives 850 miles according to trip computer.
Guess I wont be getting much for my birthday!!!! :wavecry:

At the pump - most likely. When you work out the cost per mile he'll still be laughing.

I know i compared what it cost to run the ZS against a 2.0L TDCI Focus - ZS was twice what the Focus was to run per mile (fuel only).

mrt_04 22-07-08 09:08 AM

It does work out for her. But Laura gets a very generous 0.65p per mile from NHS for her visits & covering McMillan nurse duties, so not too bad.
Needs cambelt doing with all the bits (water pump etc), but that was reflected in the price.

Looks stunning mate, I followed a TB hatch home from work today and thought what a nice colour it is especially in the sun.

Southern Storm 22-07-08 05:25 PM

Makes the wifes TB ZR look dowdy. First time I have seen your motor mate. Absolutely love it.

stamford 22-07-08 07:58 PM

Z Scotland 23-07-08 10:27 PM
