EBAY Yellow 180, is this for real?
Saw this while trudging through flea bay! Seems like some pretty big claims on power? Any thoughts?

Be interesting to see a Rolling Road graph, be worth a road test, if he would let you!!!
:smile1::smile1::smile1::smile1: |
No pics of the engine fitted, I wouldnt be intrested in shots of the engine out, Id like to see the quality of the fitting. 305bhp not a chance the btcc kv6 before the judd was only 270ish.
|
If all the parts have been replaced with uprated items, then it might be. I'd want too see proof first though

300+ from the KV6.... not sure if that was possible without some serious serious money and probably some trips to QED or the like :)
|
Owners response to proof of power:
'i can get it on the rollers anytime bud, she went on saturday and is now pulling 286 after being tuned and regulated with new manifolds, i am going to service her this weekend and probably give her 100 miles and stick her back on, cheers for the interest bud' So then...It was 305 BHP and now it's been tuned and regulated and is 286 BHP :hmmm: |
wow lost 19BHP in one email!
|
He's tried to show the condition of the car in the photo's and the interior has a little wear - where are these photo's?
Other than that though, it does look tidy for a 51 plate... |

when I had my Scooby tested it last 4 bhp between runs! rolling road figures are highly inaccurate at the best of times because there are so many variables. Getting it on an engine dyno would be the only way of proving it properly |
If that zed has a claimed 305 bhp the seller would be advertising the parts fitted and their subsequent costs and try to command a higher price. BS is all I can say at this time. QED spec'd builds would cost many thousands to achieve those figures and no mention about bigger brakes or an ATB to enable to use such power.
|
I find this bhp figure hard to swalow beacusehe says induction kit? I would have thought that at this leveel throttle bodies would be required to get that power? Also he mentions nothing about up rated clutch? or flywheel and these would be a must at that level of power!
|
Yellow is worth 25 to 50 bhp!!!!
:whistle::whistle::whistle: |

If it's a Halfrauds £50 job then no, it won't work |

I'd call BS, unless he puts a dyno plot on the auction.
|
even a dyno plot could be BS.. as they can be tweaked.
with the inlet fitted and the pics and price, its bollox.look at it logicly. pistons are 800 quid plus then u need cams at 500 quid plus then u need after market ecu at 500 plus then u need injectors at 400-500 plus (i have tested they wont run more than 260bhp) then u need the fitting charge etc and a load more parts. its BS lucky if its making 195bhp |
UPDATE!!
Looks like the buyer has revised his listing! Lets recap....It started off with a 'buy it now' price of £2,745 with a claimed BHP of 305. I emailed to ask for what proof he had of power and he then said the last time it was on the rollers it was 286 BHP :hmmm: Now its been revised and can be yours for a mere £1,500 but the BHP claim has gone down to 228 BHP Is it me or is this guy just plucking random numbers out the air?? :confused: EBAY LINKY |
Steer well clear, he is obviously hoping to hook a total plank there!
|
so if I offer him £1k do I only get 200bhp?
|
Lol thats a quickdrop off in power. At that money he wont even cover his so called racing engine lol!
|
he prob just fitted a cheap open cone filter lol
