Minor update.
Well I picked up some springs from Brett (idge2003) on Wed night and got around to having a look at getting them fitted after work this afternoon.
Only travelled a few miles but already sitting much nicer. I apologise about the state of the car but didnt get a chance to clean it before doing this plus my mates unit is down a muddy horrible unmade road so didnt think it worth it before. Will be some clean (er) pics to follow once shined up this evening. Before commencing : http://i1123.photobucket.com/albums/...CB347BF972.jpg http://i1123.photobucket.com/albums/...CB3C0FB15F.jpg When finished and back home : http://i1123.photobucket.com/albums/...CB4523BD9B.jpg http://i1123.photobucket.com/albums/...CB4C1859ED.jpg Think once its cleaned up will look much nicer and then to sort those fat tyres on the rear for the proper size so it will look even. What do you think.? |
Looks good, did you sort the poly bushes in the steady bars

Cheers Pete. I just couldn't get them to a spec where my other half liked the drive of the car. I trimmed, chamfered and smoothed and it was a no go. As it turned out I had a 1.8 auto bar & bush on there anyway so wasn't great but replaced with a genuine new setup and feels much better. Not getting complaints either so will leave it as is. My mate was after bushes for his race car so I never lost out on them either other than the hour or so of the playing around trying to sort. Not too fussed but she unfortunately drives it more than me and even I thought it was a bit annoying for constant use. |
Looks good .... Not that low .... Are they motobuild ?
|
No doubt it'll drop a few mm more when settled, looks good on mk2 alloys.
|
Looking good, see you tomorrow and see it in the flesh!!!!
:thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup: |
Looks good and glad you had no problems with anything seized etc!
I really am going to have to get my coilovers on as I miss how my old car looked when lowered compared to the 4x4 esque ride height! Brett |

First impressions though are great, I can see why people do get the coilovers when you can go as low & lower and then set it up fully. I would probably only go 5 - 10 mm lower if I did as it'd start to eat the tyres. Cheers for the bit though mate, wouldn't be sounding or looking like it does now without them :mml::thumbsup: |
That's not a problem at all and I should really be thanking you!
Yeah coilovers will be better for getting that perfect stance especially with my new wheels being 8.5j gonna be needing all the help I can get to stop it rubbing! Brett |

Looking forward to seeing how it all comes together when you get the bits on the car.:smile1: |
Sits nice that i like it
|
Cheers, just need to sort out the rear tyres back to 205/45 size so they dont look so over sized and give me a little more clearance. Overall though very impressed with the way the car rides and handles.

Having seen it now, I take back the "not that low" comment. Deffo down to your tyre size on the back though, but you couldn't have a fat lad in the back that's for sure as it'd bottom out !
|
Thanks for offering me, to check your theories out Dan!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

:thankyou:

Haha, it did make me smirk saying that lol. Couldn't believe it to when Dan said it though. Yeah the tyre size at the back now looks way out of proportion to the front so as of pay day I will be trying to order 2 falkens from one if my customers to at least match the tyre sizes.
It has settled a bit more now too, just gone that lil bit lower again. Won't get off the drive way before too long if dont change the rears. It is ok though fully loaded with the family and buggy so hopefully won't change too much over the next week. Just need a splitter to make the front look a bit lower now :) |
looking well smart
the drop and mk2 alloys makes a big difference to the look of the car although I would say that  |

Thanks mate, I love the way it looks now. Not sure if its the wheels or the drop but either way looks good to me. One of my mates first & only comment was I see you've managed to ruin your zs's handling now, I know all entitled to opinions but did take me back a bit. |
