Least the MG name carries on, hope it does well. Looks good.

Is the red WRC one a hotted up version and will it be seen in 2011???

Just read this, sounds interesting:- http://www.aronline.co.uk/wordpress/tag/mg-6/

There still is hope and faith for the brand at least I think that looks a tidy motor

Ritchy 04-12-10 07:30 PM

that looks pretty good, some big brakes on the front there

Simon's ZS-120 04-12-10 07:42 PM

and the price is quite cheap

mattie007 04-12-10 07:47 PM

I really like it apart from the rear spoiler. Interesting news about an MG6 WRC....

Steves Cleenz 04-12-10 08:07 PM

WTF is going on with the union jack on there? other than that i think it looks cool, would be better if the rear diffuser was like one of those ones from a ferrari etc

don't get angry mate....we know it's a Chinese motor.

about the union jack ,it's just because that the modification job is cooperated with a UK company.

They need this on sale. And it better hadnt be a 1.8T.

Drop the black stripes, put in a decent engine (judging by the AP Racing calipers, it may have one already), and get it on sale. Cant say the interior is really doing anything for me, but its by no means atrocious. Really like the alloys.

Whats up with the union jack flags? I like them.

mattie007 04-12-10 08:29 PM

Whats wrong with a 1.8T? Doesnt VW/Audi use a 1.8T in most of there fast cars?

1.8T is too week....we need 2.5T !!!

Dave ZS-X 04-12-10 08:30 PM

looks nice, needs an lsd, 240 bhp and handling that moves the game forward from the zs.

lol..different people have different taste..I guess 2.0 T would suit most people's taste...

mattie007 04-12-10 08:33 PM

Dont get me wrong, I hope they put a massive engine in there, but with petrol prices and mpg figures to look at, a 1.8T COULD do the job.
I want one in Le Mans Green!

Supercharged_Z 04-12-10 08:35 PM

who knows this could be uk spec or somthing!!

Jay-ZS+ 04-12-10 08:45 PM

I have to say I have never liked the pictures of the MG 6 although this has turned my opinion of it around, thing debadge the front smooth it out and wider arches would look mint! As Dave says it needs the proformance spec to match, somehow I cant see that happening.

i like them too, its not British anymore so dont stick them on

as for engines, i think they should drop the K series and go something different, and also a good Diesel too

Huffy 04-12-10 09:20 PM

It looks great with he mods, and not to in your face by todays standards! I think the spoiler on the 1st 6 sorts the back end out a treat, as for the bonnet vents, sweet! :P

I'v already spoken to the wife, i'm allowed a new car in 18 months time! lol

jockfraz 04-12-10 09:24 PM

i love the look of that i would get one in a heart beat if it had a big enough boot to put a st bernard in but i might be out of luck there. it wont need a massive engine just look at the new skoda fabia vrs that has just a 1.4 it is supercharged and turbo charged but still only a 1.4. the 1.9 turbo diesel that is in vw/audi's would be great.

Dave ZS-X 04-12-10 09:25 PM

reminds me of a honda type r and thats the kind of performance it needs to sell, infact it needs more performance than that, as the type r's are a known quantity and mg's are considered 2nd rate in comparison, so being "as good as" is not enough, it needs to be better again.

Phate 04-12-10 09:26 PM

I think that looks brilliant personally :)

Would love to the know the tech specs of it!

caled 04-12-10 09:46 PM

I suppose fuel consumption would be a consideration, but this looks like it should be a hot hatch. VVC or turbo? Or both?
And as for it not being British, the money is chinese, but I think enough British engineering has gone in to it to allow it the badge. Besides, looks good lol.

I've had a play around in photoshop with a few colours, will post up in a few minutes.

caled 04-12-10 09:53 PM

Based most of the colours on the Focus RS/ST ranges, as most hot hatches these days seem to be vibrant colours. Personally, I think the 6 pulls them off well.

mk2 Focus RS Green

mk2 Focus ST (ASBO) Orange

Perhaps not as bright as it should be, but I know a lot of you Z people like your yellow, so here you go:

My personal favourite, fit this with some LED running lights and a bit of 'bling' and I reckon it'd look AWESOME

Phate 04-12-10 10:11 PM

Green - YES

Smokey 04-12-10 10:37 PM

Love it....hope its released here and has a good spec to match the current 180....then I would consider it next year instead of a mk2!!

Southside_ZS 04-12-10 10:46 PM

It is a 1.8-T. Cant be seen on them pics but some other pics of seen of it the badge by the side repeater says 1.8.

Edit: here...

andys1981 05-12-10 12:26 AM

like it in black, not so keen on the dashboard,be nice in tahiti blue aswell me thinks

haGGard 05-12-10 02:43 AM

Looks awesome in the black! Not sure about your fairy lights idea, but stealthy black or the original white picture is the way to go :punk:

fastmike 05-12-10 03:53 AM

After all the money they paid for the "K" series and the production line , I suspect it,ll have one under the bonnet .......
And thinking of China and its technology base it can think itself lucky it isnt powered by a petrol engine normally used to pump water to paddy fields in remote areas

lawrence-zs180 05-12-10 09:32 AM

looks very nice... noone's commented on the audi looking front bumper though...
The 1.8t is very easy to tune though right so surely its the better option to get things started and then maybe bring in a 2.5/3.0t monster when sales have picked up. With the way it looks if that turns up here it would sell well.

mattie007 05-12-10 09:39 AM

Glad its got a very good reception on here.
Get it released asap!

Ritchy 05-12-10 10:05 AM

theyl;l be making money a plenty from it in china, see the police have them haha, k series isnt that bad really compared with other manufacturers engines, they will have played about with it a bit

peterzs 05-12-10 10:07 AM

If they want someone to do an extended test run, I bag the yellow one!!!

:whistle::whistle::whistle:

lawrence-zs180 05-12-10 10:30 AM

They've played around with it alot. The K, or N-series as its now called has triple layer HG, uprated oil ladder, larger oil/coolant bores through the head/block and some other bits and bobs.

One of the TF test cars at Longbridge with the N-series fitted has apparently done over 100k miles now without any HG issues.

Ritchy 05-12-10 10:45 AM

ive never seen a car come back to work with the triple layer gasket failed, we had some in which were done by other places and it had failed because it hadnt been done properly

to put it another way my cars now on 77,000 miles on the original head gasket, coolant immaculate, think aslong as the cooling system is up to it they dont tend to do so much
