peterzs 01-04-12 08:54 PM

Not far off my reg, looks like its had a hard life, but new n/s wing and rear bumper, seat cover and would be a good car.

Is it a cat "c" belts done??

andys1981 01-04-12 08:59 PM

the belts werent done, and sure the mileage was 80 odd thousand,it was on sorn etc,i agree it has had a hard life, probably will be a cat c peter

petet16 01-04-12 09:14 PM

I'm pretty certain that is the same car I looked at on a dealers forecourt about 6 years ago in Coventry, looking a lot more sorry for itself now.

andys1981 01-04-12 09:18 PM

the guy i was gonna swap with was from wales, but he wasny prepared to do the belts and tax,i thought i saw the same car on .org a short while later,i pmed the guy that was selling but never got a reply

ZS Phil 01-04-12 10:10 PM

What a dog...

Lukeus101 01-04-12 11:47 PM

So tempted to get it and restore it for Kate :)

Ritchy 01-04-12 11:53 PM

need to clarify it is cat c and not b(although it shouldnt be), damage doesnt look that bad, new genuine mk2 bumper on rimmer bros for about 150 and that wing might be savable

talkingcars 02-04-12 05:23 AM

IIRC rimmers have wings as well, the plastic bits look ok.

It doesn't mention any cat so may not have been cat'ed at all.

Fred68 02-04-12 06:54 AM

If only I lived closer :( looks like it's had a hard life but nothing a bit of tlc won't fix !!

Ritchy 02-04-12 07:23 AM

indeed he wings are cheap but hard colour to match, wouldnt show up as much on the rear bumper, i think youd definatly want to see before you bought it

peterzs 02-04-12 08:28 AM

Rear bumper match............. cough!!!!

daytona365 02-04-12 07:23 PM

Only good thing about it is its a TY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Maxxed_Ross 03-04-12 05:44 AM

there are far nicer cars out there for not much more these days... that one looks like it could have a world of issues under the battered bodywork

Fred68 04-04-12 08:43 AM

If the owner can't be bothered to look after the bits you can see then are the bits you can't see going to be looked after ?? Probably not ;)

Squeaks 04-04-12 10:00 AM

if i remember rightly there is alot of rust under the bonnet.

Southside_ZS 04-04-12 08:18 PM

Its not in need of a VIC check so its either Cat D or unrecorded.

Enright 04-04-12 09:15 PM

If you want to find out for sure - mytextcheck. Text the reg to 83600 and it'll cost you £3.00. If I was serious about any car I'd definitely do it first.

petet16 05-04-12 10:08 AM

It's cat D, the visible damage is only the wing and rear bumper which is probably a bit over £200 in parts new + paint and some time to swap the parts over, makes you wonder if there is more damage than you can see in the pics.

Smokie 05-04-12 01:55 PM

its got a bid on it. i was really considering getting this as its not to far from me but i am not getting into a bidding war for it as i was just gonna buy it off the pics and hope for the best. oh well nevermind.

Smokie 05-04-12 01:57 PM

hhhmm or should i?

Squeaks 05-04-12 03:16 PM

wait till the last minute but id personally leave this one well alone, it was forsale for quite awhile as it was on my list to buy last time it was about but was put off by the rust under the bonnet and the belts had not been done, now its damaged aswell.... not worth the hassle tbh

petet16 05-04-12 04:11 PM

I considered a bid, looking to flip it, but 180 prices are so flakey that I'm not sure it would be worthwhile, however if you were looking for a cheap 180 to keep and bring up to scratch it might worth it.

petet16 14-04-12 04:06 PM

Purchased by George, breaker, or fixer upper?

MG6Turbo 17-04-12 07:11 PM

I have this car and it is for sale.

Its not a cat c

The wing pulled out and it drives faultlessly.

It attended the Pride of Longbridge saturday !

Im afraid Talkingcars has posted a link which has nothing to do with this thread at all.

I would take £850.00 for it as is. Log book needs to be applied for.

Its going for an mot today, and so far its only needed a bulb !

George

Sorry George, didn't know you had 2 yellow ones and as the pictures had been deleted from the other thread I was unable to confirm, however from what I saw on Saturday I thought the car you were in wasn't a standard ZS colour so assumed, wrongly it would appear, that both cars were one and the same.

andys1981 18-04-12 10:34 PM

knew it would sell, especially at that price, hopefully one comes round when i actually have the cash, well done george!
