There wont be many left at this rate!

KevG 08-10-10 08:44 PM

No insurance company will repair MG's now, so that way it is sort of "Natural Wastage"!

Ritchy 08-10-10 08:49 PM

i want the bootlid off the silver one

petet16 08-10-10 08:55 PM

The Blue and Silver ones look pretty easy repairs

stamford 08-10-10 09:34 PM

I hate seeing this, no reason to have them written off. I've seen far worse cars repaired when you'd question the financial viability of it.

Smokey 08-10-10 09:44 PM

What's the expected final auction bid for this type of car, particularily the silver one?

coreygraham180 08-10-10 09:52 PM

I was thinking the same smokey I can dibs on the silver one

Smokey 08-10-10 10:06 PM

I feel I just did lol!

coreygraham180 08-10-10 10:11 PM

Just released won't be able to insurance for a couple of years so on u go

Ritchy 08-10-10 10:14 PM

buy the silver on n il gove you 100 quid plus my boot for the lid off it lol

Smokey 08-10-10 10:17 PM

I'm just very interested to know how much it would go for, might be worth it!

Dave MGT 08-10-10 10:29 PM

Is that silver one Mark Bs of xpf...?
im sure his reg was XZS....??

Just saw the 220 badges on the side as well, it is!
Good spec with pipercams as well

Supercharged_Z 08-10-10 10:34 PM

Well spoted dave!!!! I was about to say that

Was written of a while Ago and have been looking out for it since.... Not a bad spec
Watch this space

Steves Cleenz 08-10-10 10:53 PM

was just about to say thats MarkB's cars, well worth the money that will be with what it has had done to it

lawrence-zs180 08-10-10 10:58 PM

Mmm thats only 3hours from me... im not gonna step on anyones toes by bidding am I ?

Smokey 08-10-10 11:35 PM

Might be a few of us bidding lol!

Maxxed_Ross 09-10-10 08:14 AM

that blue one looks just like my old ZS, it was a BX54 too

lawrence-zs180 09-10-10 08:23 AM

looks like its gonna need a new bumper, wing, os light.. am I missing anything???
That cant have come to more than the 45% on the total value surely... are they just writing them off because its easier to do that then source the parts??

Steves Cleenz 09-10-10 08:28 AM

its down to the labour costs, when mine got wrote off they put it down to over ?8000 to put it right, it cost me ?300 to fix lol

lawrence-zs180 09-10-10 08:36 AM

8 grand!!!! thats mad... I know your paying for the guys skills but that being said thats still alot.
My dads austin healey 3000 mk1 only cost 2k to have the bottom white 'sweep' bit re done after brake caliper failed putting brake fluid up the side.. 8k just seems a bit ott thats all.

petet16 09-10-10 09:40 AM

I thought I recognised the ZSX reg, just couldn't remember where from.

My 180 is a BX54, it seems a lot of the BX54 plates were MGR registering cars to themselves to make the sales figures look better.

Remember also, if you want to bid on copart you'll need to register, and send proof of id, +?40 year subscription, I reckon it's good value for access to auctions for cars like the 2 ZS.

I'm really tempted by the Blue one, but must resist lol

ZS 09-10-10 09:52 AM

That silver one has a few parts I want... well worth the value of the car, even if it was to break it!
And its only 122 miles from me.... hmmm....

lawrence-zs180 09-10-10 09:56 AM

gonna have to get a wiggle on then to get them the proof of id.

Supercharged_Z 09-10-10 12:11 PM

defo worth it. il have a crack at markbs car too. its 10 miles away :)

Think theres a high chance the silver one will end up back on the forums with everyone bidding on it!

Ritchy 09-10-10 02:10 PM

if anyone buys the silver one il buy the boolid off them

Supercharged_Z 09-10-10 03:49 PM

peterzs 09-10-10 04:33 PM

Why dont the owners buy them back off the ins co, sounds like at least one knows what the mods are worth.

Know you need somewhere to park them till they are stripped or rebuilt, but dont make sense to me.

Steves Cleenz 09-10-10 04:36 PM

Stephen 09-10-10 04:37 PM

Im looking for MK2 180's the now, and looks like buying one with minimal damage seems to be a good option!

lol to true... as much as I would love to i think I would be biting off way more than I could chew by attempting to rebuild the front without seeing how much damage there really is.. how did he get 222 off a standard airbox??
I have a mk1.. so let me guess i cant have the mk2 engine because of the ecu and alarm systems.

Steves Cleenz 09-10-10 04:41 PM

the engine will fit straight in but you cant use the ECU as this will be coded to the SCU also this ECU has a janspeed re-map on it, he must have taken the air filter off
the engine mods

Sure when I bought back our written off cavalier it was that. Was a few years ago now.

lawrence-zs180 09-10-10 04:48 PM

lol never even knew janspeed did remaps.. mmm I would need the mani's as well, then a new clutch, torsen b diff etc to get the power down.
