Mk1 TB ZS180 - Now sold.

Gauging interest really.

Thinking of selling the ZS180. I'm now cycling to work to kick-start the old ticker so it's currently sorn, although it has a MOT until May '14 (will confirm).

Force air feed intake which sounds great
Stupidly large rear silencer, which also sounds good
Oil catch tank fitted
VIS motors working!
CD Player with USB & MP3 input (woooo!)
Body work in very good condition, with a few "trolley dinks". Could do with a new grill, as someone tried to steal it!
Has a very intermittant misfire when hot. The head gasket has NOT gone!
She drives really well, no knocks or bangs at all.
Everything I have ever done on the car is on this forum, so feel free to have a search.

The car would make an ideal T16 conversion, I would even throw in a decent turbo bottom end & head for free :beer2:

Got to be worth £600 of someones money?

I'm located on the south coast, 7 miles south of Chichester, so feel free to come & have a look.

POMPSKI 08-08-13 09:39 AM

Great looking motor, and a proper bargain! Good Luck!

MickUK 08-08-13 09:56 AM

Thanks chaps. I'm still undecided really to be honest. I love the car as it does make me grin. It's just weighing up the pro's & cons really. No way on earth will she be broken, I will keep her if there is no interest :soldiers:

andys1981 08-08-13 10:25 AM

clean looking car, should sell at that price mick, good luck with the sale

Steven11 08-08-13 11:14 AM

I hate how you can buy a car like that for the price of a set of tyres. looks stunning, you (your students) certainly take care of it lol

MickUK 17-08-13 11:37 AM

Quick update:

The car has sat for 2 weeks without being touched. Went out to her this morning, fired up no worries with the first flick of the key. Ran up to temp, held revs at approx 3-4000 rpm for 10 mins. Both fans kicked in, no overheating & cooling system working as it should. Revved engine up & down, all smooth with no misfire. Let engine idle for a further 10 mins. Revved engine again to around 4000 rpm & she cut out. Started straight away & ran fine. It did this once more over a period of an hour.

I'm thinking cam or crank sensor.

Not sure whether to keep her, or whack it up for £600.

Arrrrrrrgh!!!

petet16 17-08-13 11:39 AM

Stick a code reader on it maybe.

MickUK 17-08-13 11:50 AM

Yup, will be stealing the one from work Monday!

OT, whats happening with yours Dan ?

Din 05-09-13 05:57 PM

Just ordered rear discs... Wheels and center caps are done, ect is being sent off next week, some err welding. Being done next weekend, then on the road end of October... Unless Mick wants to swap a ti for that blue zs lol, then I would transfere the lot to his and sell or scrap the one I have !

petet16 05-09-13 06:02 PM

The err welding bit sounds worrying lol

Doesn't it just... I have not uploaded pics of it for obvious reasons untill it's done, but it ain't good, put a damper on the whole project really, spent enough on it now only to find significant rust in areas you perhaps would not expect... My father in law is a really good welder though, he will sort it with a good new section etc, but then the body work is still crap too, I gave up and taxed my ti again this month on the basis the zs just was not ready, or up to scratch.

But now I'm only planning on running the zs for a couple of years due to it's condition, which is a real shame after the time, money and effort involved.

The only other option is to save and find a nice one, in good nick, and I have all the rest, from ball joints, to cv joints, rad, engine, pipes etc etc... Dunno.

Micks would be just the ticket, but it's more money again, and like I said, I have spent enough, the only way I could do it would be to sell the ti for an ok price and scrap the current zs..

Sorry for the hijack Mick lol.

petet16 05-09-13 06:38 PM

Apologies to Mick for taking your thread ot

MickUK 05-09-13 07:01 PM

Auctions going well, already higher than your original expected price. I always find the last 5 minutes the most interesting. Will be watching :look:

The scourge of ebay, non paying buyers seems to be very common now.

andys1981 07-09-13 11:09 AM

thats a shame as it was a very honest advert, you deserve better than that mick, hope the buyer gets in touch

MickUK 07-09-13 11:24 AM

Annoys me. Could have passed the car off as is & not mentioned anything, however my conscience wouldn't hack it.

Honesty is the best policy& all that.

What a ball ache, I had someone of RT bid on my stuff, then not pay, then when I looked more closely at his f/b it turned out he was a serial non payer.

No mate, you can claim them back. Pain in the ass, but you'll get them back.

Sold loads of stuff on there recently and without it I'd be taking stuff to the tip instead of planning whether to buy speakers, exhaust, or get a refurb.

I need to be doing that... Got loads of crap in the garage that is only going to get binned if I don't sell some of it.

MickUK 03-10-13 01:03 PM

Unbelievable the amount of bloody time wasters on Ebay!!!

petet16 03-10-13 01:34 PM

MickUK 03-10-13 01:51 PM

maxtherotti 03-10-13 02:24 PM
