Mg zs mk2 180

Have searched the usual eBay, Gumtree, Pistonheads etc.

SPEC:

MK2 180
Saloon preferred but Hatch may be viable
Any colour
60,000 miles or less preferred but belts must be done
Long MOT, some tax
No dents/damage, needs to be a good condition car
BUDGET - £2000 maximum, has to be a good example for that
Mods would be nice but not essential.

Skillen 24-03-14 08:17 PM

There's a silver saloon with alcantara for sale on RT

Some slight issues like wing spat creased but it comes with a new one.

£750

Edit: a deposit is on it sorry mate.

Smokey 24-03-14 08:19 PM

Yeah, avoiding 'issues' this time. Would rather pay a grand more and have no issues and a long mot. Cheers though.

Skillen 24-03-14 08:21 PM

Makes sense to avoid them!
Mine had "issues" and I have now sorted the ones it had and now I keep finding my own "issues" otherwise known as excuses to upgrade ha!

Smokey 24-03-14 08:22 PM

I'll be stripping my upgrades and recycling them!

I've got a 52 MK1 Saloon, LeMans green, 64k miles and had the belts done. Fantastic condition, belts done, serviced. Absolutely immaculate inside. Just about to fit a new exhaust to it (cat back). Drives superb, nice standard example which hasn't been messed about with and I've just waxoiled it all, Dynax S50 in all the box sections as well plus fuel tanks been off and undersealed that and underneath the fuel tank as well. MOT Jan 2015 and tax June 2014. Taken me 6 days to do all of that.

Not a MK2 but a stunning and rare MK1 nonetheless.

Smokey 24-03-14 08:30 PM

Has to be a mk2 mate, cheers.

MG ZS STE 24-03-14 08:56 PM

This is a very nice example indeed. Worth the extra imo.

Already looked that ad. Spoke to the guy and he refused £2500 so no chance and I'm not willing to spend that much more.

Smokey 25-03-14 09:04 AM

Not many on the go at the moment I notice. I remember the days of a flooded market!

MG ZS STE 26-03-14 08:34 PM

Not sure if you've already seen this one but thought I'd post it up anyway.

I suspect demand (if not already) will soon outstrip supply. Which should have a positive effect on price.

Smokey 27-03-14 10:42 AM

I won't be popular when I put mine up for stripping then!

stamford 27-03-14 11:14 AM

Dan never did! :sly: I am shocked :D

POMPSKI 27-03-14 11:15 AM

Good news

Smokey 27-03-14 11:48 AM

I'd buy his steering wheel, gaiter, seats etc. They are all mint!

MG ZS STE 27-03-14 12:24 PM

take that lot out and its just another MK2 that needs the belts doing

Smokey 27-03-14 12:55 PM

That won't be this year lol!

Bobdope2002 27-03-14 02:38 PM

what happened to the other one then??

Smokey 27-03-14 03:16 PM

Tim, you don't want the list lol. Just the usual cost of repair outweighing the value of the car!

Bobdope2002 27-03-14 03:45 PM

no i mean the other black zs you were interested in??

Smokey 27-03-14 03:52 PM

Oh right, he wouldn't budge on price.

Bobdope2002 27-03-14 03:53 PM

oh right lol, so whats the problems on the zs you got now just curious and being nosey haha

Smokey 27-03-14 04:04 PM

Noted in another post, leaking fuel at the fill area, rattle in engine but not the usual plenum as I've had 3 on it that have been perfect on my other one, loads of wee niggles and just too costly

Bobdope2002 27-03-14 04:27 PM

ahh makes sense and was too lazy look for other post :p

Anyways back on topic :D
