09 plate CBF125

I have thought long and hard about this, but at the moment its getting so little use I can't justify keeping it!

So, I have for sale a Red 09 plate CBF125, its done a smidge over 1000 miles (will confirm exact amount tonight)

All I want for it is enough to clear the finance... Which I think is ?1,500 (under book price for this bike!)

I will provide pictures if anyone is interested? But it is in A1 condition I have never dropped it and there are no scratches at all anywhere on the bike.

Only 1 mod made to it... I fitted a Velcro Clock to the top of the handle bars :) very easy to remove if not wanted!

ZS 14-10-10 01:57 PM

Checked Finance and its slightly less than the ?1500... Therefore if anyone is interested I will take offers slightly under... (as long as it covers the finance)

Picture attached for reference (although not my bike, my bike is in as new condition!)

Have you tried the classified section on the MCN forum? Theres also a free for sale section on the M and P website :)

Still for sale if anyone is interested.

My CBT runs out next week so can't really drive it after next week...

So if anyone wants a Bike that does 400 odd miles to a tank of fuel (a tad over ?10) then come look :D

neiljm0 04-01-11 03:16 PM

if you can afford to keep it do so, you will regret it afterwards soon as the sun comes out, ive just sold mine and i really regret selling it, ive been daft didnt save the money so thats gone and now cant afford to buy another.

I'm not going to renew my CBT though so can't drive a bike after next week...

Plus I have a BSA Bantam D1 sitting in my garage as well... If I do renew the CBT at any time I'll be out on that :D:D

How old are you and when did you get your full licence ?

bigfella 04-01-11 09:32 PM

Just read about it, I'm 27 and passed in 2001.

Looks like I will need a CBT.

IIRC on this bike you only need to do your CBT which is valid for two years.

Correct :)

And a place local to me was doing the CBT for ?80

Remember, the CBT is Compulsory Basic Training, so is not a test, you cannot fail it :) - Saying that they won't let you out on the road if they don't think your safe ;)

bigfella 05-01-11 07:31 AM

I'll have a think about it. How tall are you? I'm 6'4 so am not sure if it's a good bike for tall people!

stamford 05-01-11 07:32 AM

I could do with a bike for commuting, would save me loads of pennies, alas the wife and kids will not allow it  Don't blame them.

bigfella 05-01-11 07:39 AM

Thats what I'm thinking. Currently spending ?146 a month on trains. It's only a 30 mile round trip!

I'm 28, With only a CBT the insurance was obscene! ?186 a year!!! lol - Drops when you pass your test though!

The fuel costs were ?10 a month while I used it for commuting (before I took the kids on full time) which was just under 400 miles a month

Tax is ?15 a year...

Doesn't need an MOT for another year...

So it worked out at about ?30 a month to use the bike... or ?200 + a month to use the 180 to commute... !!!

ZS 05-01-11 07:44 AM

Bigfella...

I would suggest you get your CBT before you buy the bike... that way you can decide if it is for you :) use the bike school's bikes and keep in mind that this bike will be better than the bike school's ones... (honestly that is true)

bigfella 05-01-11 10:13 AM

I think your right there, thanks for the honest advice.

I'm still undecided - the non licence "CBT only insurance" is quite offputting!

I'd recommend Carl Nash :)

Or if your with Sky insurance or Adian Flux for your car then speak to them (Adrian Flux = Bike Sure) as they will match *some* of your no claims bonus onto your bike from your car (doesn't affect car insurance) and the price drops again :)

Hey I'd rather be honest than you buy it and regret it!

ZS 21-02-11 08:56 AM

Still for sale if anyone is interested... Price dropped to ?1000 for a quick sale!!

bigfella 21-02-11 09:12 AM

I think book is 100mpg combined... but I found I didn't need to scream the engine as most 125's tend to and as such got the better economy :)

I love the bike, but I just can't justify the expense of keeping it when I can't ride it due to no CBT (expired) and two kids (single father) that just can't go on it :)

I think the only way to know if you'll like a bike is to get on one :) lol the CBT is a good tester as well...

mattie007 23-02-11 10:44 PM

Nice little bikes. Passed my CBT on an older version. Bargain for someone!

ZS 28-02-11 12:39 PM
