Just messing about - Possibly a first on a MK1 ZS
I have never seen this done before, probably with very good reason! :) I am pretty sure no-one will like what I have done and I am not totally sure If I like it either, but I was bored and wanted to change the car a bit. If it doesnt grow on me I will change the black to blue.
It doensnt photograph well, it seems like the the black sucks all the light from the sky. When I got the car it was poverty spec body wise apart from the extreme spoiler. So I managed to source, fogs, MK2 Grill, 180 splitter and side skirts. I have had the TB side skirts on for sometime, but never got round to fitting/spraying the bib and grill. TBH my spraying skills are terrible, so I went with a contrast colour that was easy to paint, Matt Black! Bring on the hate :) Here it is when I bought it http://i234.photobucket.com/albums/e...r/SDC12621.jpg and now....................... http://i234.photobucket.com/albums/e...r/IMG_0527.jpg http://i234.photobucket.com/albums/e...r/IMG_0528.jpg http://i234.photobucket.com/albums/e...r/IMG_0531.jpg http://i234.photobucket.com/albums/e...r/IMG_0533.jpg I cant help but think it looks a little damaged/repaired :D |
How could you ..... ? |
I think you could have got away with the skirts and splitter but the grill is horrid

I agree 100% |

Skirts and splitter look ok though |
Splitter's fine, but the skirts and grill are minging mate .... IMHO.
You've killed a perfectly standard looking Zed ina day .... |

I can turn it back the way it was in around 10 minutes :) Thats the only reason I did it. There was no way I would have done it to bodyparts that were trophy blue! |
I think It looks AMAZING!!!
Actually I changed my mind, drop the grill, its to much ;) |

At least you tried something different, never know until you do.
|
Good effort, apart from the result :-)
In my opinion it only makes sense if it looks like 180 mk1, since you already got the "impreza" spoiler to start with. Meaning all the bits body color and keep the old grill lol Mk2 grill is designed to match new headlights and new bumper, am I right? After you do the 180 conversion you could get mk1 or even mk2 180 bigger alloys, I think they would do fine. |
lol that looks **** - change it back! :)
|
certainly different, i think if the front splitter where gloss black? the skirts gives the impression of the car being higher in the middle i think, with some fettling with the idea it maybe could work
|
Looks good in a way but i keep thinking of early Cowley built 75's with the bottom painted black :/ much prefer the longbridge built colour coded versions. :)
|
i think if you maybe dd it an actual colour not matt black, like yellow or something?
|
do not like mate, worth a try but heh ho,you know what to do mate !
|
Looks ok except the mk2 front looks ******* **** I hate mk2 front ends without the mk2 lights
|
Not for me, looks like an ebay special ;)
|
A little late on the thread I know but personally I would recommend people get there eyes checked, it all needs to be Trophy blue mate except the Laguna splitter. The mk2 can and does look good on the mk1 but you need to replace the front headlights to the Rover clear lights, its obvious why ;) also remesh the grill to match the meshing from the bumper, lockwood do the same meshing. Another pointer is change the wheels next, they dont help with the overall look.
PS dont be scared about spraying trophy blue mate, its a piece of cake and if you lived in the south I would be more than happy to spray it for you. |
He sold it and has a red 180 now.
|
Jesus he really didnt like it did he :) LOL, Nothing a bit of paint wouldn't have sorted.
|
Yeah, I kinda changed it a little .............
http://i234.photobucket.com/albums/e...r/IMG_0608.jpg Plus, I still had tb skirts and mk1 grill so it was all changeable, the new owner has the blue bits :) |
Wow and I thought you said you couldn't spray :) LOL
Very nice and dont let people say that white wheels look rubbish :yup: |
