made me feel sick!

i have just seen my old zs 180, the car that i looked after no matter what the cost, the car that never had a spec of dust on it, the car that i had so many good times in and now....what a state. doesnt look like its been cleaned since i sold it a year a go, its honestally discusting and made me feel bad, marks all up the side, wheels curbed to peices, interior looks like somebody has been living in there, covered in bird sh1t.

i cant beleive some people, how can somebody treat such a great car so badly, and neglect it the way they have.

here is what it was when i sold it.

See! you kicked the car out on the street and now look whats become of it!... shame on you!

Dan1971 29-04-10 04:26 PM

That's where I'm glad the 3 I've sold have gone to enthusiasts.

Never mind mate .... Next time, you could always offer to buy it back.

Bobdope2002 29-04-10 04:28 PM

TBH guyz people see these as cheap run arounds now and if your not an enthusiast theyre gonna get treated like *****

No point in expecting anything else nowadays

Zippy Saloon 29-04-10 06:05 PM

Some people would treat a brand new £30k Audi like that, a 6 year old "banger" Rover* stands no hope. Sadly.

*What they think, not me!

afcbadam 29-04-10 06:45 PM

its a shame how people "dis-own" a car. there is a 6 month old audi TT RS up the top of my road that hasnt ever seen a wash mit. id always look after my car, old banger or not

stamford 29-04-10 06:54 PM

At least it is not written off! When you sell a car do you vet them to make sure they are worthy? No! When you sold it you turned your back on it and moved on. That's life.

Phate 29-04-10 07:35 PM

Sorry to hear that Adam, although I did come in here expecting to see pics of it.

afcbadam 29-04-10 09:13 PM

didnt have a camera or a phone on me, the bloke couldnt care less about it, it was parked in my gym car park, where clampers are red hot, no permit in the window either.

Ritchy 29-04-10 09:21 PM

one reason i wouldnt want to sell mine lol

afcbadam 29-04-10 09:26 PM

i wish i could have afforded to keep it at the time but buying a new car i just couldnt do it. wish i hadnt seen it now

KevG 29-04-10 09:34 PM

At the end of the day, it is just a car, a big hunk of metal that gets somebody from A to B, 90% of the population don't care about car care.

My neighbour said to me one Sunday when I was washing my car in the driveway, "Are you trying to make it grow!, every time I see you that car is always being washed", I have seen him wash a car it consists of a hose with a brush on the end, no soap, no bucket!

Ritchy 29-04-10 09:44 PM

i think cars take on a character tbh, ma cars more than a machine to me its got its own personality

Ritchy 29-04-10 10:13 PM

yupp

BUCKYDEVIL 29-04-10 10:19 PM

I agree that it's nice to keep a clean car and good maintenance/service can prevent more costly repair bills, and I love the way my ZS looks and drives but got go with what Kev says, it's just a machine.

SharronB 29-04-10 10:29 PM

Its a "machine" to most people who just throw a bucket of water over it now and again, but to us saddo's( ) who spend hours washing and polishing, its our pride and joy! ;)

I could understand that Adam, if I sold mine and saw it in a state I'd be devastated.

I have regretted selling all my cars including those which had no real life left in them namely my Ford Fiesta which was the last vehicle my Grandad owned before he died way back when I was still at school........and more recently my LDV Pilot van which was 'rusty but trusty' a true friend I could rely on when I needed to get places in a hurry or no matter what the terrain.

My ZS is an amazing car which I would hate to give up even if she does make me pissed off when simple things break or stop working and it turns into a mission to fix or replace the said part.

If I were you I would do something stupid and leave a note under the windscreen saying you have cash waiting to get your baby back. I'm sure it wouldn't take much money and time to get it back into its former glory.

I too understand this.....

Which is why most of my cars aren't sold on.....

They're scrapped!!

Which is no loss, as most of my last cars were already on their last legs. But I have 'sold' a car a while back, well more swapped really. It was a MK3 Astra Sport swapped for a MK3 Astra CDX in better nick.

The lad I done the deal with, just thrashed it with no mercy and then cut up with a sthil saw. But the body had more hits than Michael Jackson, clutch was shagged and the engine ticked cold or warm and dropped a cylinder for fun.

zscort 03-05-10 07:46 PM

I know how you feel, sold a very good mk2 escort a few years ago to a local lad, it lasted him 8months and he'd totally f*+#&ed it, never cleaned it (it was white) the interior was covered in mcdonalds crap, he blew the gearbox up and sold it on to someone who broke it up! I spent a lot of money getting it nice then got bored of it.......won'r make that mistake with my current escort. I also found out that my zs120 mk2 that was written off at xmas :( is now prowling the street somewhere uninsured according to the mid database, another car fallen into wrong hands sadly

Yampiedog 19-05-10 05:13 PM

I think I saw it today Adam, looked clean enough - KV53? It now how has twin exhaust too...

afcbadam 08-06-10 08:34 PM

no, still a single exhaust, its now up for sale on ebay.

the KV53 saw martyn is identical to my old one, mine was KV53 ROU, his is KV53 R##.

it was weird when we usedto drive past each other, there were some funny looks between us. lol, kept thinking somebody has stolen my car....untill i realised i was driving it
