Do you have bodykit?
If so straights will probably look skinny

Looking at the last photo, the alloys do look skinny with the bodykit bulging out. It looks quite good with the side view.

Steves Cleenz 04-06-10 09:45 PM

they do sit in too far TBH, remember MK1 straights are only 7J wide where as the MK2 are 7.5J so they fit better in the arch

Ritchy 04-06-10 09:45 PM

tbh the gap aint that much different to the mk11 11 spokes

My ZS doesnt have the bodykit but i have the 11 Spokes. I actually really like the fact that they sit almost flush to the body, where as if i had a bodykit on, they would be slightly in.

A MK2 with the kit has to have 7.5J alloys tbh. The Straights look really nice on the MK2 with kit though, What about some spacers to bring them out a bit? would that work?

Rears look like they sit in more than the fronts, almost like you could cover the rear wheels like the Honda Insight.

Look good though, I would have expected them to look old on a MkII somehow.

Dan1971 05-06-10 05:57 AM

Don't like them on a Mk2.....Sorry.

Zippy Saloon 05-06-10 07:20 AM

Wow, theres actually a pic of the bodykitted MkII with Straights in the brochure

Reminds me of how you used to see the original mini with wheelarch spats but the skinny standard wheels underneath.

Odd how all the stationary pics (apart from the colour chart) all have 11 spokes.

hmm not sure now but mine hasnt go the kit on and its black. think the colour makes a big difference

even some 5 spokes with fat spokes just cant seem to find any

Without the kit it should look good IMO, just pointless having kit to cover wheels that aren't any wider.
They are very nice wheels IMO (straights & 11 spokes), really theres not much to choose between them.
Mine originally had Hairpins - they HAD to go!

there arent really better wheels for the ZS (well mk2) than the mk2 180s.
