Now get yourself straight down to McDonalds car park ...... And hang out with the Saxos ....... ;)

petet16 31-03-12 06:25 PM

Just NO

Craig-ZS180 31-03-12 06:32 PM

Mmm, not too sure to start with but as will all things car related its all down to your own views.
It is quite an impressive look but just not certain.

Well done though mate, would never have thought of something like that myself ;0)

Ritchy 31-03-12 06:37 PM

i quite like it, as long as it isnt all the time, been thinking about this since i got my car, was thinking about red though? obviosly not all the time though just a wee additional thing, although not sure now ive got he gills darker....

Maxxed_Ross 31-03-12 06:40 PM

all the times we talked about doing this I con't believe you finally did it!

looks a fantastic colour too. Wish I had shark gills now

grimmy 31-03-12 07:02 PM

I want that in mines as well but red for me.

MG ZS STE 31-03-12 07:16 PM

Looks awesome, nothing wrong with that colour but needs matching LED sides to pull it together. Did you mount the bulbs at the top of the metal inner to the gill?

Smokie 31-03-12 08:28 PM

i like it looks good

Craig-ZS180 31-03-12 08:45 PM

I do keep looking at this & I'll be honest the more I look at the pic the more I'm liking it..:clap2:

Nor 31-03-12 09:06 PM

Kev you maddie :D

SheppeyTrio 31-03-12 09:13 PM

I'm loving this!! Wanted to do something like this to mine when i had it! Just a shame you didn't get all the way to the front of the fins!

Oh you had just had to say it didn't you. We were all thinking it but you just came out with it. Respect.

Still looks awesome.

I'm liking the idea, not sure about the execution based on the 1 photo.

Lukeus101 31-03-12 10:25 PM

Not my cuppa, but it does look kinda cool :)

Smokey 31-03-12 10:33 PM

I would need to light up all the gills but what a great concept. Would go well with my centre console LEDs!

Grimmy, we could red gill buddies!

zsserbia 31-03-12 10:47 PM

Nae bad ;)

S13AVO 01-04-12 12:01 AM

Nice, nothing wrong with a bit of extra lighting, plus nothing wrong with putting your own stamp on YOUR car, as long as you like it, who give's a flying **** :w00t::w00t:

KevG 01-04-12 08:32 AM

Thanks for all the comments good and bad, but it was just a quick thing that I did 2 weeks ago, I ordered some blue SMD LED's 30cm long strip solder some wires and stuck them on, really easy to do, but getting my sausage fingers through the slats was a bit tricky.

Yeah, I know it doesnt go all the way to the front, just the strip wasnt long enough, will order some more longer strip, but as I say it was a quick mod.

Dr Doggystyle 01-04-12 08:35 AM

looks very nice !
if i would do it on my black car
i would make it orange so when the turn signal turns on it also will flash from the shark grill :)

under-helmet neons might not be very practical... or safe

Ritchy 02-04-12 07:25 AM

haha, be like talledega nights with the sticker across the window

stamford 02-04-12 08:09 AM

Like the idea but not sure tbh. Rozzers will probably pull you for it being blue and not amber as it is a sidelight.

midcuk 02-04-12 11:39 AM

i do like it was on my list of to do, along with led rings in the tail lights, did you just wire them in to the sidelights ?.

Ritchy 02-04-12 01:19 PM

any further away shots kev?

if i where to wire mine id wire tem off the interior light just so they came on when unlocking or opening the doors, as pointed out would be illegal to drive with them

that would be how id wire them up aswell

Maxxed_Ross 02-04-12 01:46 PM

on it's own switch would probably be the only legal way
