Grrrrr, think the new wheels DON'T suit the car???

Was looking forward to putting these on, even went the extra mile in sourcing what i'd call great tyres to put on them!!!

2 x continental sport 3's for £65 picked up!!
and the pirelli p zero nero's that come with the gross wheels which were on it (imo)

Here's some pics, contemplating some mkii alloys instead...

Look good to me!!!

Ritchy 14-05-12 04:44 PM

seen a lot worse i have to say, main issue is the tyres are too small look like 40 ratio? should be 45, if you had that then it would fill the arch a lot better

James Raby 14-05-12 04:54 PM

the tyres on the wheels are dead!
they're yokohame Parada spec 2 205/40/17's

the tyres to go on them would be 205/45/17's

grimmy 14-05-12 04:55 PM

agree with ritchy the wheels look nice but they don't seem to fill the arches properly maybe it will sit down a bit after a while.

big_wasa 14-05-12 04:58 PM

They look ok, as said the tyres make them look a little small. I think the mk2 11 spoke alloys are one of the best looking alloys on any zed, mk1 or 2.

Dan1971 14-05-12 04:59 PM

Lower it and it'll look fine mate .... ;)

I like them. I'm in the gang that think the Mk2 alloys don't suit the Mk1. Straights for a Mk1 - 11 spokes for a Mk2. fei force 10s on either. But these look good mate .... Honest.

welshone 14-05-12 05:26 PM

Will look better with the new tryes as they are bigger and will fit the arches better.

dont say that?! i'd consider it and have done before, need a wider curve to the allys though to make em look beefy, like that red zs on ebay with 18's for example

Smokey 14-05-12 06:37 PM

White wheels on blue. Always makes me smile!

Pistonheads advert spotted - white wheels on a blue Mk1. Bargain car by the way .... mk1 belts done for £750.

Looks good with white wheels ..... but - as I've said - they look good anyway.

sim85 14-05-12 07:04 PM

not bad, even got parkign sensors, dead cheap

Ritchy 14-05-12 07:27 PM

not a fan of white wheel tbh, plus they get filthy

andy-81 14-05-12 08:42 PM

back to the original thread, the wheels look good to me maybe some 5-10mm spacers and lowered (like a few others have said) i reckon you'd change your mind

not going to lower the car, not unless some proper springs come up, but I don not intend to use the car on track (yet) but does improve the look of the car for sure

(had massive camber and inside wear issues using the in-correct springs on my blue ZS last year which resulted in 2 sets of tyres been trashed within 6 months!!)

coreygraham180 14-05-12 09:27 PM

i think the wheels look really smart on the car and in one of the pics from the back of the car it looks really ace
