Some shots of Longbridge (pic warning, there's lots of them!)

I came accross this site not long after I bought my ZR, and thought I'd share them with those who might not have seen them

It still brings a tear to the eye looking at these. It's weird to think the place is just a concrete slab now

The TF-X with the big body kit looks like it would have been interesting

Maxfly 07-12-07 05:57 AM

its an excellent site that, and it was because of them pics i registered, still kinda weird seeing a plant like that just stopped!!:rip:

arwilson80 07-12-07 08:38 AM

Boot Hill Bandit 07-12-07 08:56 AM

I will take the TF-X in silver yes please!

The amount of bodyshells that got crushed too.....just appalling. Shame I didn't have the money and the space.......I would have bought as many as I possibly could. A few ZS shells...a few ZR shells and as many TF ones as I could get my hands on.

Awesome site that. Am I right in thinking that part of the factory is the one that has been demolished??

I drove past it last sunday, All gone now.

Birmingham's heart has stopped beating !!!

A real sorry sight that this, been there a few times. My daughters boyfriend lives dead opposite there on the Lickey Road.

sduk 07-12-07 12:55 PM

upsetting pics :( let's hope MG make a strong return to Britain sooner rather than later :)

Maxxed_Ross 07-12-07 05:43 PM

I joined up the site a few years ago when I was quite into the sneaking in and taking pictures thing. Did a couple of old hospitals... if you want freaked out go do that lol

arwilson80 07-12-07 10:26 PM

I'd love to have had a chance to go look around the factory but alas. That's not really gonna happen now.

Ah well... At least i've got to have a look around Prodrive. :)

Maxxed_Ross 07-12-07 11:12 PM

I was on the verge of going down but then heard it was almost all gone or on the brink of going

Such a shame

grimmy 07-12-07 11:38 PM

breaks my heart to look at those pics seen a lot of them before still makes me cringe that the powers that be stood by and watched it happen

coreygraham180 08-12-07 02:55 PM

what is this car ?

Boot Hill Bandit 08-12-07 03:16 PM

Rover 75 replacement is my guess

Smitten Jim

Maxxed_Ross 08-12-07 05:53 PM

it was a 75 coupe concept I think

Southern Storm 09-12-07 08:48 PM

No word of a lie. Really do find these pics upsetting. Think of the history of the place too. If walls could talk eh?

Maxxed_Ross 09-12-07 11:17 PM

same here, its weird but it really does bring a tear to the eye

Na that was the tcv concept i believe, is an ugly ****** of a thing and if what i read is right then the designers were just pissing about with this one when kevin (the beardy one high up) went past and told them to get it built....or something along that lines:)

Maxxed_Ross 10-12-07 05:52 PM

just as well they went bust then, it's fecking ugly!

I would deffinately have bought a TF-X though, that thing is so damn sexy!

rbull51 12-12-07 03:01 PM

I wonder what happened to all the half finished cars and all the unused bits & pieces? MG will be interesting in the future but i dont think it will ever be the same again as its NOT BRITISH OWNED!!!!! What a huge waste of a once great brand...

arwilson80 12-12-07 03:24 PM

Some of them were sold off, but I think that most of them were cut up...

Maxxed_Ross 12-12-07 05:43 PM

yeah most of them sold off cheap locally and the rest were crushed. Such a waste

stamford 12-12-07 05:45 PM

There were some interesting items at the auction, very sad to see and there were some unusual projects too.
