A couple of pics from today's mini meet!

Not many turned up but was a good drive down there and I'll say a spirited drive back ;) All within the speed limits of course!

All saloons...meh ;) Looking good chaps

zsserbia 07-10-12 10:10 PM

Ha! Blue ones are wider than the black one!

POMPSKI 07-10-12 10:55 PM

Yes... Mine looks tiny lol.

Great to meet you, had a good time. Looking forward to next time :)

RE: Spirited drive back, did either of you hear my wheels off the roundabouts? No traction whatsoever in first or second high revs, think I must be wearing budget tyres and need some new ones.

Kirk I'll nick some of these, I especially love the pic of the backs.

Didn't hear the wheels but heard the exhaust tho, and I think I may need some new tyres as mine were a bit slippy, but not sure how much of that crap near the pub stuck to the wheels. Take whichever photo's you like mate and ref the wideness I think it's just the angle, unless the mk2's are actually not as wide?

POMPSKI 07-10-12 11:09 PM

Nah its because I can literally only see the back of mine, but the sides of yours. Tricks of the eye!

Did the exhaust go crazy on the roundabouts while my wheels were spinning? Good point on that slippy new tar, may have been what was causing my massive traction issues.

How did it sound back there, wish I could see for myself :p

Nice Zeds!

When I read the title I thought we had some actual Mini (BMW..et al) interlopers!

Black is a slimming colour and the shape of the rear bumper helps too ;)

C'mon you blues! :D

petet16 08-10-12 07:54 AM

Good pic's, I can't believe there's no Yellow ones, everyone and their dog seems to have a Yellow ZS:laugh:

KirkJames 08-10-12 08:13 AM

Next meet will prob be Ipswich or maybe even Kings Lynn so some of the Lincolnshire boys can come too. They'll be plenty of notice but just trying to move it around a bit and involve a wider group of people and this also keeps it fair!!

Thanks for the comments guys, and Dave you could hear your exhaust but I'm sure you blipped the throttle a couple of times ;)

Stev180 08-10-12 08:13 AM

Great pics and awesome forum members! I shall get my pictures up tonight also. Journey there and back was somewhat fun to say the least.

Come on Pete your yellow zed isn't that bad!

KirkJames 08-10-12 08:38 AM

Well I was saying to the other guys Peter that unless it's a very big meet I probably wont drive over about 1.5 to 2 hours as it costs too much really!

peterzs 08-10-12 08:48 AM

Shame but thats too true, think that stops a load of guys from turning up.

:):):)

POMPSKI 08-10-12 10:25 AM

Kirk I admit I blipped it once or twice but not on the roundabouts :)

Steve where are your pictures :p

What's the betting if it's Ipswich or near here I'm working??

Brett.

idge2003 08-10-12 12:14 PM

Would give me a deadline to get all the mods done by though!!

Brett.

POMPSKI 08-10-12 12:14 PM

Sure we can work something out

Actually a bit of everything, eye trick because of the colour and being able to see the sides of the blue ones, but mostly because of the camera lens, which is stretching everything that is out of focus. The left one is widest, it is wider by a tail light width than the black one ;)

Like Pompski said mate, let us know when you are free and I'm sure we can work something out. In just over 4 weeks I will have every weekend off so time should no longer be an issue :)

Dan1971 08-10-12 01:54 PM

The black Mk 2 is further away from the camera. The bootline's also higher so it's taller and therefore appears narrower.

What a relief not to see any TYs ....... ;)

Well when you know a rough idea of when your thinking of meeting up again I will be able to look at what dates I'm off and as it would be nearer can even make it when on nights so will be alot easier!!

Cheers Brett

big_wasa 08-10-12 06:07 PM

I didnt make this or the Brm day

The joys of one 7 year old and a tummy bug, the wife risked Morrisons with him to get some calpol. That was a big mistake so I wasnt risking the alcantara.

I would be up for Lyn as even Thetford was a bit far for a 3 car turn out, 120 mile round trip.

Nice pics
