Looks great mate bet it goes well aswell
Very nice mate. You stuck with a lower powered car for a long time and have served your driving apprenticeship.
Do the same with this one - feed the speed in gradually and learn how to handle the huge power difference or you'll get caught out. Enjoy it pal - but be careful. |
Nice Scooby Ritchy
Did you trade in the Zed mate or has your good lady Inherited it ?
Its in the garden at the moment, shes got a new fiesta already
Nice Ritchy. very nice.
Surely she would prefer the Zed ?
Great looking car, have fun!!
:yes::yes::yes: |

Very nice!
Cheers, yeah i am wary of it but i do get to drive plenty of big hp motors at work, all be it not in anger. It is pretty quick, plus no wheelspin just oomph away, it does potter about too luckily, nice amount of torque so you can drive it about off the turbo, sits at 70 at 2500revs.
Very nice, enjoy!
looks in good nic.
So thats me had the car a week now, pretty settled in already, zs hasn't turned a wheel all week. Few more things despite not having it up on a ramp yet, it has bistein shocks fitted i.e. RB320 suspension. Also found a receipt for a sports cat and "snake head" downpipe at £420.
Nice to find upgrade goodies, poor we ZS kicked to the curb.
You enjoying all the mod cons now ? |
Poor ZS .....
Great to find these little surprises. Like a fiver in a pair of jeans on the floor for washing, only a lot better ! Good for you. |

Well broke it already, started it up yesterday after driving it to work, number 3 big end bearing has spun. So engine is coming out for an overhaul.subaru reliability eh, so zs had been wheeled back out ti save the day. Also got towed home by a ZT haha
Why is the place you got it from not covering it under warranty ? or was it a private sale Ritchy.
Pretty sure you know stuff anyhow but wish you best of luck getting it sorted pal. |
Hes paying for all the parts/ regrind and im doing the labour which suite me tbh. Its a wee ti y place that sold it
Thats gutting mate .... no doubt you'll put it back together better than it was from the factory anyway ... ;)
I'm actually not too bothered about it all tbh, as peter said on facebook. Its a chance to upgrade
Improve an upgrade, hope your back on the road soon bud:)
That's bad luck buddy, makes HGF look like a walk in the park!
It does indeed haha!
Quite a lump when it's out.
Very wide but very short, came out pretty easy suprisingly, looks an intresting strip, you leave the pistons in the bores and split the block with the conrods left on the crank. Theres allan bolts on the side of the block which lets you remove the gudgeon pins in position
Yes my lads is just back from mot and investigation work. We bought a duff closed deck replacement engine so here we are 6 months later and a total of £2,900 invested in a car that has come home minus engine and boxes full of parts, nuts & bolts. Guess who's about to do his first scooby rebuild?
Get on scooby net fella on there just done a big spec rebuild. Apparently you leave two pistons and rods in one side and remove gudgeon pins from the other two via inspection holes so when you part the blocks two halves, the crank comes out with two attached to their rods and the other two stay in the bores with the rods just dangling. Be warned, huge costs for gaskets. We got them all in our prices as above and hopefully can sell on the closed deck block. |
Kv6 conversion haha!! :D
A while since the last update, to cut a long story short, the guys fucked me over and i've been left to sort it myself. So a few months on and the last bits are being ordered tomorrow:)
What's getting done I hear you ask? Well not messing about, getting new crank, acl bearings, new con rod, cosworth head gaskets, uprated 12mm super duper oil pump, new modine, stainless exhaust manifold and up pipe, new timing belt kit and a few other bits, magnetic sump plug and shiney bits:) pics to follow shortly |
