Yep tonight i was giving a friend a lift home and the rain picked up badly and what i thought was a shallow puddle ended up been the mother of all puddles resulting in a seized engine :( FML
|
That sucks...
|
Oh no! That really is terrible. May I refer you to the engine swap how to guide....?

You sure ... You can have my engine for £250 and then all you'd need to do is host a "do stuff" meet and we can swap it over..... |

only thing is its leaking water from somewhere, gotta have a look into tht now |
Well, good news then!
What general area is the water leak? |
|
It looks like you might be needing a new rad.

Some mate if he doesn't know what a hole in a block looks like! Was he after your car by any chance? ;)
Hopefully you'll get a rad sorted, if not Dan1971 will have one. |
You got to get those air intakes as high as possible. Hope it all works out for you.
|
can anyone help me out? i cant see how id get the radiator out? ive got front bumper off just need to know how to get radiator out and what i need to replace.
Thanks |
On the track car we took off all hoses etc retaining bolts and it lifts out of rubber seating grommets at the bottom of the rad after that we removed from underneath the car.more room for manouvere.
|
Any guides?
|
Have you removed the 2 bolts at the top?
If so it should tilt back towards the engine. You will have to move the hoses out of the way. |
everything back together and shes running like a dream again. just gotta play it by ear and look out for other problems. I feel lucky that the engine is even running
|
Good to hear and hope all's well.
|
Sounds like you might have been very lucky fingers crossed. Its been chucking it down round me and even some flooding round town. They must think I am drunk the way I swerve about avoiding puddles and or driving like miss daisy. Think ill look at an ITG snookle mod if it summer is going to be like this!
|
ive got it running again. Seems to be running fine again. drives the same, doesnt overheat or loose water etc.
Only thing the windows keep steaming up cause obviously there was water in the car. Any tips to sort this out |
You could try one of those cheap dehumidifiers, they seem to work pretty well

Lucky, why did you think it had a hole in the block?
For misting up obviosly dry any carpets and id also suggest replacing the pollen filter |
