Sheddist kit - What's it worth

As in the title, as we don't have a "what's it worth" section, I thought I'd stick it up in here.

So, a brand new, unused Sheddist kit with the instruction disc, I bought this 7 years ago in the expectation that the clutch hydraulics would shortly fail, however it hasn't happened yet so I've decided to move the kit on to someone who may have a more pressing need for one.

As far as I know Nigel still makes these kits, but he seems to be hard to contact, and makes them up at a rate thats suits him rather than the demands of the market.

Opinions then people, what would be a reasonable asking price, also this is just a what's it worth thread NOT a for sale thread, when I put it up for sale I will make a new thread in the For Sale section of the forum.

Many thanks.

Hens teeth atm so what you paid i expect!
Has your zed got the v6 gearbox on pete? (Sideline question lol sorry!)
My clutch arms hangs downwards is all!

petet16 15-11-13 03:08 PM

No, ti box on the zed Dan, this was bought for our 180, but as you say the pg1 on the T series operates in the opposite direction.

Same ratios as a 180 box though, but with a Quaife diff.

thaaaank you! :)
good luck with the sale!

POMPSKI 15-11-13 03:32 PM

It'l be worth what you paid for now, you'd probably get more... Such is demand. But once Dark Ice Design's kits are ready and the market for these kits has been unclogged, the price will probably drop sharply.

Supercharged_Z 15-11-13 03:58 PM

Used kits have sold for 150 so I say 180

I even offered Nigel an order for 30 to 40 kits that I would buy for stock if he could make them

andys1981 15-11-13 06:45 PM

last year when i contacted him he said they were 157 delivered, but these are rare,so somebody, bound to need one,ive just bought 4 tyres and had them fitted today or i would have gave you an offer pete

petet16 15-11-13 06:49 PM

Cheers Andy, I've got a handle on the price now I think, so I'll make a for sale thread over the w/end.

andys1981 15-11-13 06:52 PM

this was last year around august but i sent him another pm to see if i could get on for the mk2 but havent heard back

petet16 15-11-13 06:59 PM

He doesn't seem to reply very often, but he hasn't said that he's stopped making them.

Maxfly 15-11-13 07:25 PM

As said worth what you paid, minimum. Personally I would fit it and sell the oe guff, I much prefer the feel through the pedal when the kit is fitted and loath to go back to the standard setup

andys1981 15-11-13 07:27 PM

this is a second one pete has i think mate, incase the sheddist one packed in

Maxfly 15-11-13 07:29 PM

Ahha, I see a back up for a sheddist kit. That's a belt an braces approach I like lol

This, also the standard set-up goes for a few quid too.

£200 Pete. Supply and demand. I'd put it on eBay at £250 or best offer.

Mark S 16-11-13 08:10 AM

putting things into perspective, I've just bought an 03plate zs 180 for 250!

ZRed 16-11-13 08:37 AM

Mental eh.
