Whats it worth px?
Thinking of changing car, planning on going to test drive a few tomorrow and having never bought a new/6 month old car just wondered what I could expect to get for mine if px'd? Guess Dan would probably be the most experienced in this area! lol
54 plate 180 125,000 on the clock. Or on the off chance anyone is interested in it the full spec is Piper Cams and Pulleys Lightweight Flywheel Torsen Type B limited slip diff Brembo 4 pot calipers Decat Piper Cat back Open cone induction HID's Rainbow component front speakers Pioneer HU |
Mate, your car, no matter the mileage, is a unique specimen since Murray started on it.
I'd try and sell it privately (xmas probably not ideal time) if you can fund the new car without trade in. Either way, I remember back when you bought it, I was close to getting it myself! (It was the NOS I liked the idea of lol!) Either way, good luck. |
Cheers mate. Assumed it would be worth more to an enthusiast than a dealer that will most likely scrap it.
Funding isn't much of an issue, parking on the other hand would be more of an issue. As have now where to store it. |
Salisbury, springs to mind Jay.
Seems a shame to get rid. :yay::yay::yay: |

A dealer would likely not take into account any of those mods.
A BMW main dealer recently gave 150quid for an 03-plate with less miles, expect to be kicked in the shins and offered 400. You know its worth its money elsewhere. |
Cheers Mark guessed that would be the case. Would be a BMW dealer so would be about the same.
|
What you thinking of getting Jay?
|
Seen online there's quite a nice 12 plate 320d sport up cribbs. Pretty generic I know but no doubt a quality motor.
|
Great choice!!
I like the 3series and also the C class is a stunning car. Bit better finished and more comfortable. not quite as sporty as the BM though. I still quite fancy a 335i coupe :-D |
Yer I'd like a 335i but justifying it to the wife whilst I'm still at uni just wouldn't happen!!
The economy and £30 a year tax on the 320 makes it quite attractive. |
Sound it out on here first as I am sure there would be interest ;) part ex would be bottom limit with no haggling.

£500 mate. You`ll get that off the new car not trading it in tbh.
|
If you don't mind getting insulted then ask them. It'll be peanuts though.
|
How much do you want for it though? :p

More than they offered think Id take £1500 from someone on here gonna stick it up for £1750 on pistonheads/ eBay.
|
Got to ask them first mate for a valuation. Strong arm them that you need them to take it or you cant go ahead with the deal and that you want £1500 for it.
They'll start as Red most likely said at £4/500 - but they will be all over you like a rash at this time of year. Before I settled on the beemer for the Mrs, I had dealers ringing me from all over the place and they changed their px valuations by over £500 blind over the phone just to secure a deal...and I include BMW main dealers in that. One I was looking at was a 12 plate 328 lux saloon up for £23K. My px valaution went from £7,500 to £8,600 in 2 days. Another slightly more complicated option would be to find someone here who'd pay £1500 for it, but needs to sell theirs first. You then px their car in against your target car and you're all happy. |
Opted to just put down a deposit then I'll sell the car privately or even break it if theres no interest.
|
Would be a shame to break it, but it's where the money is. Shame - when it was all stickered up, it was theeee car I wanted ...

Sadly a PX will probably get you about 1k. However you could probably put it back to STD and get the same money |
