Black PBT MK2 Rear saloon bumper

As above, new bumper needed please! With bodykit preferably bur not essential

grimmy 25-09-14 05:27 PM

What did you do?

Smokey 25-09-14 07:21 PM

Nothing! (this time) The clips supporting the bumper decided to release it at 60mph. I now have a 10" split from the corner down!

That's pretty trashed, damn cheap clips

BUCKYDEVIL 25-09-14 08:24 PM

That looks nasty, will keep a look out for you mate
Sent a link to one on the Bay but don't think they deliver- no harm in asking though.

Smokey 25-09-14 08:29 PM

Yeah, can't see it lasting either!

Smokey 25-09-14 08:39 PM

Oh, and can someone link me to new clips that will grip! ?

petet16 25-09-14 08:43 PM

Is the plastic bracket in the driver side rear wheel arch broken as well, that makes the whole thing go floppy.

Smokey 25-09-14 09:26 PM

Now that you mention it, yes! Kat broke that when she reversed in to the neighbours car! Would that cause it to pop out of the clips though?

I have a bag load of the metal s-clips here, I can post you over a few if you need them.

petet16 26-09-14 05:40 AM

If the bracket is broken it may increase the chances of the bumper pulling out of the clips, I only found mine had broken when I was washing the car and noticed the bumper seemed to be floppier than normal, Sheddist made new brackets from aluminium bar which work a treat and are really easy to make and fit, the link for them is on xpf I think.

petet16 26-09-14 05:49 AM

Link for the brackets http://forums.xpowerforums.com/showthread.php?t=30108

Smokey 26-09-14 09:16 AM

Cheers Pete, sadly too it the too late as will need a new bumper! Will ensure that its bracketed and fresh clips are attached.

petet16 26-09-14 09:21 AM

Yeah, I was thinking more for the new bumper, I think yours is probably beyond saving, but if you can find a body shop that does plastic welding it may be possible to fix it.

Stephen 26-09-14 09:25 AM

Another option because you have duplex is mud flaps. They secure similiarly to the brackets that hold the bumper on.

In ebay as rally flaps

Smokey 26-09-14 09:57 AM

Yeah, all options for sure. My real problem. Is sourcing a replacement bumper at the moment.

Smokey 27-09-14 10:33 AM

Even Facebook is proving useless for sourcing one! Damn rare bumpers!

petet16 27-09-14 11:11 AM

The seller in Denmark again, lol

petet16 27-09-14 11:17 AM

Wrong colour.............but http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Mg-zs-mk2-...item3ce8f9f8cf

Smokey 27-09-14 12:43 PM

That's the issue. I don't want to have to pay £100s to respray a bumper!

grimmy 27-09-14 01:17 PM

Buy another black car Nick the bumper ,break the rest or strip for another track car.simples.

Smokey 27-09-14 06:28 PM

Have looked at that as a viable option Grimmy but not spending a grand or more for a bumper lol

petet16 27-09-14 06:34 PM

Mk2 rear bumpers seem to be a nightmare to find, I looked for ages, and I didn't mind what colour it was, they just never seemed to come up.

MG ZS STE 27-09-14 06:55 PM

Get one in any colour as Pete says and do the Clio rear diffuser mod then get it sprayed.

Smokey 28-09-14 10:27 AM

Then suddenly it's costing me £300-400 which is a quarter of the car value. That has to be weighed up. When a match comes up, it should cost me circa £100
