Car needed £1500-£2000

Right,

Hopefully possible job change on the horizon means more money coming in.

However I loose the company car. Got around a £1500-£2000 budget and Im after a decent cruiser with decent MPG.

I was thinking the likes of a ZT/ZTT CDTI as I will be going up and down the M1 a fair bit.

What would you guys go for?

Cheers,

:smart:

ZT auto diesel. Passat auto diesel. Vectra auto diesel. Best spec you can get.

Lukeus101 12-01-15 05:59 PM

Should have said I dont do auto lol, although I have never driven one :D

Could prob pick up a mk2 ZT Diesel for that ££.

Same cars then, but manuals...;)

Should try an auto though pal. Especially if your route ever involves you being in slow stop start traffic.

Just had a similar quandry, ending up chucking in another grand getting a high miles honda civic diesel. Dont regret the choice.

Must be getting old...looking at a 75...whats wrong with me lol

Nothing wrong with an auto. I had to change the last car for an auto due to the commute and frequent traffic jams, the on/off clutch pedal didn't do my legs any good.

Hard to help on cars as there are so many in that budget range. Cars I would consider are ex-Police cars, well looked after and white ;)

Another thing being an ex Special Constable i know those cars get ragged and not always kept to their servicing...

Had a thought for one myself recently, cheap motoring I guess.
Have to say my favourite daily commuter was the Rover 114 Gsi I got for £500 a few years ago, would say that may be a bit too leftfield of what you actually asked lol.

I think the missus would kill me, been banging on about getting a ZT for a while then this came up. Only made 151 mk2 SE's and 44 in PBT so very hard to find.

Also just spent £575 on the Navall2 and another £400 this sat for cambelts and another £100 on stocktakes modified Vis motors.

Must say I'm not a huge Vauxhall fan but I do love driving my Insignia VX-line eco-flex 2.0 derv. It's a fab motorway mile muncher!

Might not come in on your budget tho...
