MG ZS 1.6 Saloon Wanted

Hi Guys!

Now im coming up on 17! Iv been looking for a MK2 110 ZS, Dad's telling my 105 ZR! but yeah hes not going to win!

It Has to be a Saloon With the bodykit! Theres a few about, Black 54 in Fife with 32k, Really nice but has a scratched front bumper. Im ideally looking for an Ignition Blue, Firefrost Red, Starlight Silver or XPG one. Not realy after a Black one as my mums and dads are both Black BMW's And i hate cleaning them! Yes i have to clean them! :( And i want to be different.

Anyone know of any decent ones about?

Thanks

cat c??? i wouldnt. no mention of the head gasket either so that is another big bill waiting to happen

grimmy 03-04-09 07:58 PM

That one is nice proper spoiler and everything

TjP 03-04-09 08:01 PM

No rear spats and Cat C with a few issues... :hmmm: Must be a better one about.

Have you done an insurance quote for the ZS? I really wanted one for my first car but the premiums were over 2k even for the base model IIRC - same for a ZR. Not sure why that was, I was gutted to say the least. But hey, 1 year later I had a mk2 180 so it worked out in the end :)

afcbadam 03-04-09 08:07 PM

the saloon is cheaper to insure as its classed as a family saloon.

Stephen 03-04-09 11:12 PM

Im not 100% sure what the cost is for insurance as my dad has been looking at it but its not very much. :)

Not after Cat C's or D's.

Thanks Kev :)

:cool2:

Looks quite tidy, but I'd defo be changing one of those rear clusters - they dont match! Must have taken one from a 45, question is why :hmmm:

steetee 10-04-09 06:09 PM

I'm sure i've seen that green ZS kicking about locally. It is usually a woman driving it

Stephen 05-05-09 03:39 PM

Been and saw an Iggy blue 54 ( SH54RAU) today. 57k

Very nice car, few issues that are bugging me.

Spray line as you open drivers rear door
No spare wheel
Car phone kit and ariel on rear window

Other than that its a very nice car!

What do you guys think?

Phate 05-05-09 03:44 PM

Your not 17 till August?

or am I thinking of someone else?

Stephen 05-05-09 04:01 PM

Yeah im 17 in August

Maxfly 05-05-09 05:32 PM

looks nice, wi the overspray get right in about it, could just have been something relativly minor an easily cleaned up. Sort out a decent filter if you get it and sort out the exhaust:) A lot didn't come wi spare wheels, size issues so the best you would prob get in any case is a space saver, the moby kit should be easy enough removed and easy to clean up any marks too:)

vinny1979 05-05-09 05:37 PM

looks nice.
you can have my 180 for that price ;)

dave87 06-05-09 02:26 AM

it was at that milage my 110 started to go wrong but it does look a nice example

KevG 06-05-09 08:01 AM

You must remember at lot of these cars are getting on now (nearly 5 years old) so some will have seen the wrong side of a hedge too!!

KevG 10-05-09 03:06 PM

Stephen

looky here

Stephen 20-05-09 06:04 PM

HOW DID I MISS THAT!!!!!! :(

Anyway

Saw another today. really like it!

Good bits
05 Plate
30709 Miles
Black saloon
12 months MOT
6 months tax
6 months warrenty
Full service history
Alcantara Interior

Bad bits
Badges are faded.
No bodykit

What you recon its worth! :)

afcbadam 20-05-09 06:28 PM

i would hazard a guess at around 3.5-3.7k on a forecourt.

Nor 20-05-09 06:36 PM

Bodykit makes a world of difference to how the cars look. If it was me, I'd hold out for one with it.

+1, you will end up wishing you had got a kitted one mate

ZS Phil 20-05-09 06:45 PM

Any of these are nice for a 17 year old! I was lucky enough to get insured on my mums 120 back in the day and it wasnt cheap! Having owned and insured a ZR 105 and a ZS 120, I would say your old man is right in terms of costs but the ZS is a much safer car with side airbags. I know you are after a 110 but the insurance was virtually the same for me when i was running quotes.

Stephen 20-05-09 06:59 PM

I know they make a world of difference but at then end of the day im not really going to get another as good as a car that for a while. I can add the bodykit on at a later date if i want to, thats if i can get one.

And at the price i can get it for, i think its a bargain!

afcbadam 20-05-09 08:50 PM

my insurance was the same on a 1998 rover 200 1.4 as it was on my 2004 mgzs 180!
