Christmas present question...

Those little car ramps that you drive onto to lift the front / back of the car off the ground...

These...

Does anyone know if you can get the same sort of thing so that the whole car is lifted about 10-12 inches off the ground?

Its called using four of them... :p

Or use a pit... :D

arwilson80 03-12-07 10:42 AM

A pit is a good idea but i don't have one. :p

And as for using 4 of them. How? Are you suggesting that i just jack the car up and set 2 more underneath the other 2 wheels?

I've done that before and it's not recommended lol

you'd need one of those see-saw things garages have that you drive onto

arwilson80 03-12-07 11:34 AM

Yeah Ross. I don't like that idea myself... Those see-saw things are expensive though... :(

Those rams are a waste of time for the ZS or any low car IMO. I tried to get mine onto them and it touches the bumper before the wheels touch it.

Depends on where you will use it but you can get, as said, a lift which is basically 2 long flat sections ontop of a sissor type jack. you simply but blocks onto the flat sections at the jacking points and up you go. Will ask dad how much they are as they have a couple in their place for very low cars.

I used to use them back in the 80's  these days it's a big f*** off jack and quality axle stands.
