fuel leak

its a 2002 model 1.8 hatchback really need to get this sorted asap as just had a new born child and need the transport cheers

The mk 2 zs did suffer fuel tanks that rusted away. Ive seen very few on a mk1.

Does this only happen when you fill it full with fuel?

Did it spurt out into the filler neck opening and its just the surplus fuel draining away?

no its a mark 1 model fuel tank is dry its where metal pipe goes onto rubber pipe then tank where it is dripping there is 3/4 of a tank of fuel in it could it just be a worn rubber pipe or somethin else

It's probably the rubber pipe or a failed jubilee clip.

cheers goin to have to take it off and see if i can replace it with somethin as rimmer bros are out of stock

You can buy the rubber part on rimmers (EDIT oh is see out of stock), just don't use there MGR clips get a decent jubilee clip, in fact I have a spare hose off my old tank if you want it??

Or brand spanking new
