Busy day

Took the day off to get some jobs done on the car, absolutely knackered now but glad I managed to get everything done.

First job was to replace the leaking rear caliper. Noticed that one of the pads was sticking slightly in the carrier so took the opportunity to shave a bit off top and bottom and now moves nice and freely. Now looking much better and hopefully won't ruin any more paint.

Next job was to have a look at the rear bumper as it hasn't been sitting properly since someone did a hit and run job on it. Was surprised at how easy it was to get off, and how few bolts there were holding it on!

It soon became clear that whoever had hit it did so with reasonable force:

Gave it a good clean and sorted out the brackets with new S clips but it's still not sitting completely flush, looks like it will be a new bumper at some point in the future :(

While the back was jacked up I took the exhaust and mid section off. Original mid section was put back on and the new back box from George fitted. As an added bonus it had an pipe tip fitted so looks big but just not as noisy now :(

Last job was a quick service. Fitted new oil and fuel filters and did a full oil change, one day will manage to get all the old oil in the container (now got another stain on the drive!). Also decided to replace the plugs, coils and HT leads to see if it fixes the intermittent misfire and put a new camshaft cover gasket on to fix a small leak.

Just as I was finsihing up the body shop called to say the alloy that had been damaged by the brake fluid leak was ready to be collected. They've done a really good job, just makes the rest of them look crap now!

Think it may be time to try a refurb on the centre cap once the weather warms up a bit.

Weeks work for me, think your bumper is a lot better fit than mine!!!!

Wheel came up well.

Would love to do mine, but I know what would happen, sooner live with them!!!

Glad the exhaust arrived in time for your busy day.

I left the exhaust trim bit on for you rather than risk removing it.

Cheers George. The exhaust turned up just as I was getting ready to refit the bumper so timing couldn't have been better! The trim was a nice bonus, means the space is still filled although it will probably be replaced with something less obvious in the future. The box had a bit of a rattle to it, not sure if its some disintegrated cat filling or the internals coming loose but couldn't shake anything and it sounds fine.

Thanks for all the other comments, ached like hell yesterday but seems to have been worth it. The service seems to have done wonders for the engine and its nice and smooth again, although slightly less responsive with the standard exhaust system back on :(
