BMW M Sport

Ive just been offered a 03 320D M sport by a mate at work for ?3.5k.
Book is about ?4500. Its done 110k, but has a new turbo (1k), brakes and tyres. Also been remapped to 175ish. Im not a BMW fan but it does look the part and really shifts aswell.
The clincher for me is the 65mpg!
Trouble is I dont have that kind of money and id only get ?1500 for mine.
Its well specced and has been looked after.
Id have to get a loan but is it worth it?!

If you could afford to run it and also the repayments then I would consider it for sure. If you get a bank loan then you could sell it on if you fell out of love with it and get a 180 ;)

I am tempted but he got it from auction 2 years ago with no history. I know it's had no expense sparred since though. Mot is due soon but should sail through. Going to the bank later to find out about finance, but I still owe alot on the bike! Id still miss the MG!

if you like the car then go for it

it looks like a steal but life is for living if you like something get it no regrets and if it dont work out with the money from the bmww you could get a mk2 180 and still be happy in a mg

Decisions, decisions! Always a difficult one, you'll only know if you made the right decision once the MG has been driven away by a total stranger and you start having problems with the new car! All part and parcel of car ownership.

Aye, but the mpg scares me on a 180! 25 compared to 60 is a big difference, especially when most of my trips are 150+. The way fuel prices are going this barge should ease the pain!

i would opt for a zs diesel matt.

The bmw maybe cheaper on fuel consumption than a 180, but insurance and general maintenance will be higher on the bmw.

While BMWs run well they are fine, but when they go wrong, they cost the earth.

I got some advice from a customer once -
never take out a loan for a depreciating asset.
Tell him I'll swap him a zs though!
